If you're looking for a medieval RPG that is more focused on your personal growth than Manor Lords, but still retains those city-building and survival elements rather than turning the dial as far to the action side as Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Medieval Dynasty could be the answer. With 2.5 million copies sold, nearly 40,000 Steam reviews, and a 90% recommendation ratio on the Valve store, the middle-ages survival crafting game is making many players happy. Now, developer Render Cube confirms that new DLC is right around the corner, and it's all about expanding your building options.

First launched in 2021, a big Medieval Dynasty update in November expanded and overhauled several of the survival game's core systems, including a total combat rework, additional weapons, armors, NPCs, quests, and seasonal events. It's been a while since then, and if you've been craving some more variety, you're in luck. New Medieval Dynasty DLC Echoes of Nature packs in all manner of outdoor decoration options with a focus on "natural elements and seasonal variation."

Currently, the building tools in Medieval Dynasty are mostly centered around more artificial structures, from houses and lodges to wells, stables, and workshops. That makes sense; you're there to construct usable spaces among the wilderness. But of course turning a house into a home, or making a town feel bustling and alive, means much more than simple function. Pick out tiny saplings at the local merchant and watch them grow with your village, becoming part of your story in their own right.

Vibrant evergreen trees, blossoming wild roses, or even the likes of a rockery pond might not be essentials on a mechanical level, but they're what truly make a space welcoming. That only expands as the seasons turn, as all of the plants and natural decorations in Echoes of Nature adapt to the changing climate. Shrubs will bloom from spring into summer, then gradually recede as the leaves change color and eventually fall away amid winter frost.

Also launching on the same day is the second volume of the Medieval Dynasty original soundtrack, featuring three albums and a total of 39 pieces of music. Render Cube notes that most tracks were recorded using live instruments, including "a special restored accordion passed down through generations in the family of one of the composers." It also highlights the Swamp Day Theme, described as "the most complex track in the game."

The Medieval Dynasty Echoes of Nature DLC is set to launch on Thursday June 26 via Steam, alongside volume two of the game's original soundtrack. You can wishlist the new expansion here to be notified when it arrives.
