How do you unlock more alters in The Alters? If you want to unlock more Jans to give you a hand with your base, you're going to need to level up your Qubit Level by finding chips. Here's how to do it and where to find them.
By now, you likely have your first alter, the Technician, and though he takes a bit of encouragement, he soon gets to work on maintaining or upgrading your base in the Alters, or whatever other task you assign him. It's tough to juggle and manage all the tasks, though, even with his help, so here's how to unlock more alters in The Alters.
Unlocking alters in The Alters
To unlock more alters, you need to use the branching procedure in the Quantum Computer. If you have enough Rapidium, which can be mined in the area, you can create more versions of yourself.
Initially, there are only a few to choose from, but as you progress, you can unlock more slots for different tiers of some of the best alters in the game. To do this, you need to find Qubit Chip locations and fix them in the Workshop before they can be used to upgrade your Qubit Level.
Qubit Chips can be found by exploring the area around your base. There is only one chip in each area, and they are found relatively near the base. Here's where to look.
Act 1 Qubit Chip location
The first Qubit Chip can be found near the cargo crash site by the minerals deposit. This is where you'll run into several enemies, but they can be easily evaded by holding CTRL to walk carefully around them.
Act 2 Qubit Chip location
The second Qubit Chip can be found on a ledge by the Enriched Metals deposit when you turn right out of the base. This can be used to upgrade to Qubit Level 3.
Now that you can find Qubit Chips to unlock more alter slots in The Alters, here's how to keep your alters happy by improving their moods, and how to beat all of The Alters anomalies.
