SAUSAGE BALLS CLASSIC RECIPE

These Sausage Balls are perfect for any occasion! Easy to make and always a hit.

If you love recipes made with sausage you must try this Sausage Crescent Bake. It’s a great appetizer or can be a breakfast treat too!

❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

Sausage balls are a tradition in our family.   We make sausage balls every Christmas Eve and sit around and talk and pig out.  If there are any left over, we have them with coffee on Christmas morning.    We can always find an excuse to make these. Sausage balls are one of our favorite appetizers and we make them all year long for game day and social events when friends come over. This is a recipe you will enjoy over and over again.

SWAPS & ADDITIONS

You can easily add spices to this recipe like cayenne, garlic, etc. If you want to spice this recipe up, use spicy pork sausage. Many people like to use cream cheese in this recipe too. If you are one of them, just add a block of cream cheese to this mixture. It will make them more moist. You can also mix up the cheese, we love cheddar but you can add any you prefer.

DO YOU COOK THE SAUSAGE FIRST?

We get asked this question a lot and NO you do not cook the sausage. You mix the sausage straight from the package, it cooks once it’s in the oven in a ball.

CAN I USE GLUTEN FREE BISQUICK?

Yes, you absolutely can and I have made them that way and they were delicious. Great way to keep these gluten-free if you need that option. Any gluten free baking mix should work just fine.

⭐TIP

These are great warm but they are also great cold! We love them both ways so enjoy them when they come out of the oven and any leftovers you can have straight out of the fridge the next day.

Cuisine American

  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or any cheese of your choice
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix all ingredients with your hands and shape into walnut sized balls. Place on a sprayed baking sheet.

  • Cook in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes. We usually turn them once while cooking so they will be browned on both sides.

For a creamier option you can add one 8 ounce block of cream cheese to this recipe.
