Mindseye has experienced one of the more dramatic launches in videogames this year. As the first game from Build a Rocket Boy, a studio led by former Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption producer Leslie Benzies, expectations were initially high for the project. When the game came out earlier this week, however, it made more of an impression for its many significant technical issues than it did for its approach to open-world action. Now, after several days of complaints, Build a Rocket Boy has issued a statement outlining a timeline for trying to get the game into better shape.

The official Mindseye X/Twitter account recently posted a lengthy explanation of when the sandbox game's creator will put out updates, and how the team feels about the largely negative reception its work has received so far.

"We are heartbroken that not every player was able to experience the game as we intended," the post reads. "Our priority is optimizing performance and stability so that every player, across every device, can enjoy an equally high-quality experience."

The post explains that the team has identified a memory leak as the culprit behind "the vast majority of crashes" and is attempting to issue a hotfix on PC "as soon as tomorrow." After stating that the studio is "fully committed to ensuring all our players have a great experience" and that it "will continue to provide frequent and transparent updates," the post offers a timeline for Mindseye's updates.

The hotfix planned for tomorrow is set to improve performance, allow players to adjust or disable depth of field settings, turn down the CPR mini-game's difficulty, fix a problem where controls for its MineHunter and Run Dungeon mini-games are missing, and more. The week of June 16 will see an update aimed at further "performance and stability improvements," a "fix for the buggy wheels not visually spinning while driving," and another fix aimed at stopping players from falling through the environment in the Car Manufacturing area.

By the end of June, the studio says players can expect "ongoing performance and stability improvements, rebalanced 'hard' difficulty setting, animation fixes, [and] AI improvements."
