Final Fantasy 16 is a truly Eikonic RPG, and it has dropped to its cheapest price ever for a short time

While it's not a true-blooded role-playing adventure like Baldur's Gate 3 or Pathfinder, Final Fantasy 16 is one of the best RPGs I've ever played. Combining Devil May Cry-like action with a Game of Thrones-style narrative, alongside the series' usual apocalyptic magical stakes, Final Fantasy 16 is a true masterpiece in my eyes, and if you want to give it a try alongside the excellent duo of DLCs, the complete edition is now cheaper than ever. However, you'll have to be quick, as it's not on sale for long.

Taking place in the mystical, politically-charged landscape of Valisthea, you play as Clive Rosfield, First Shield of Rosaria, who has a younger brother called Joshua. While Clive didn't inherit the powers of the Phoenix, one of Final Fantasy 16's many Eikons, he's blessed with its abilities and is tasked with protecting his brother, who is the Dominant of the Phoenix.

The cinematic narrative takes you into a world of turmoil and political assassinations. Clive ends up seriously hurt, forcing him to become a Bearer for another kingdom. Considering the base game itself has around 40 hours of main story content, I'm sure you can imagine that a lot happens. It's got larger-than-life beasts and powerful wielders of magic, without failing to focus on the interpersonal drama between Clive and his allies and rivals.

I fell in love with the world of Valisthea fairly quickly, but I have the biggest soft spot for the combat. While it's not a character action game like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, it delicately toes the line, giving Clive plenty of skills to unlock that can help you deliver intense and powerful combos. Especially when it comes to the boss fights, with some of the later battles hitting that sweet spot of fun and adrenaline-inducing chaos.

While the base game is solid enough on its own, Final Fantasy 16's duo of post-release DLCs add a lot to the story and are both on sale as well. Set before the events of the finale, Echoes of the Fallen lets you explore an ancient tower alongside Jill, while The Rising Tide features an entirely new set of skills as well as a more narrative-focused expansion of the world. They're both great as far as I'm concerned, but it's The Rising Tide that really blew my socks off.

If you're a fan of Final Fantasy or are just curious about the series, Final Fantasy 16 Complete Edition is just $34.99 / £32.49 at Humble Bundle right now, giving you a massive 50% off the entire experience. As someone who paid full price for the game and the Expansion Pass when they both launched, I have zero regrets, and considering the 50% off you're getting here? Well, that puts me into a state of final ecstasy.

However, you don't have long to grab this deal, as this discount expires on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. We don't know when it will next have a discount like this, so don't miss out.
