Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra might have a strangely mundane design flaw: the adhesive on its camera rings doesn’t always hold.

At least one user reported on X that, after three months of daily use, a camera ring on his S25 Ultra detached. Despite the device’s titanium frame and glass back, the rings aren’t part of the actual camera hardware. They’re purely cosmetic, held in place with adhesive.

This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.

This isn’t an alarmist take on the durability of the S25 Ultra. The new camera rings are noticeably thicker than those on the S24, and most units appear structurally sound. YouTuber JerryRigEverything warned about this months ago in one of his teardown videos. With deliberate prying, he removed a ring, but clarified that they’re generally secured well under normal conditions.

Mashable Light Speed

Still, this incident stands out. A high-end phone featuring premium materials can still fail in oddly avoidable ways. A camera ring detaching after light wear is unusual, even if it’s an isolated case.

Samsung likely won’t see major fallout from this. The Galaxy S25 Edge, launched last month, continues to draw attention for its slim design and impressive performance. For now, the detaching camera ring remains an odd one-off. If not, we'll have another article about it, in say, two-ish more months.
