Searching for ways to get water in Dune Awakening? As it's one of the most important resources, finding ways to consistently get water should be one of your top priorities while adventuring across Arrakis.

Although there are lots of water sources in Dune Awakening—like Dew, Windtraps, and Stillsuits—most of the best methods take time and resources. To keep your water levels flowing, we've explained all the best ways to get water below, including methods to get water early in your survival MMO adventure.

At the start of the game, the Blood Purifier, Stillsuit, and harvesting Dew with a Dew Reaper are the best ways to get water. As you advance, building Windtraps then becomes the most efficient method of obtaining large quantities of water. If you want a consistent supply of water, we recommend combining a few of the methods above.

Here's how to get water in Dune Awakening:

  • Deposit Blood Sacks at a Blood Purifier.
  • Equip the Stillsuit to recycle water from yourself.
  • Build Windtraps at your base.
  • Use a Dew Reaper or Dew Scythe to harvest Dew.
  • Buy from Tradeposts.
  • Drink Dew directly when very low on Hydration.

Blood Purifier

You need to research the Blood Purifier and then select it from the 'Refineries' tab in the 'Placeable' section in build mode to insert one in your Dune Awakening base. Next, deposit your Blood Sacks by using the Blood Extractor on mercenaries into the Blood Purifier and wait for it to convert into water.

You can drink water directly from a Blood Purifier, or you can fill literjons and tanks with water to use elsewhere.

Stillsuit

Stillsuits let you recycle your lost water into hydration. Wearing one isn't enough to completely combat water loss, but it can certainly make your adventures across Arrakis last a little longer.

There are a few Stillsuits to find and craft in Dune Awakening, but you get the Scavenger Stillsuit early on during the 'Echoes of the Past' main quest. This occurs after you take on the first Trial of Alq, and build a Fabricator at your base.

Windtraps

It takes Steel Ingots, Silicone Blocks, and Calibrated Servok to place a Windtrap at your base. You also have to ensure you have at least 75 spare Power to get a basic Windtrap to work. The more Windtraps you place, the more Power you need at your base.

Dew Reapers and Dew Scythes

Dew Reapers and Scythes are Fremen devices used on flower fields containing Dew, so you can harvest water into literjons or water tanks, but you deplete its power when you use one. You get more water from harvesting Dew at dawn or night, try not to harvest Dew during the day if you can avoid it.

You can get Dew Reapers and Scythes of different qualities by crafting them. The higher the 'Mk' number of a Dew Reaper or Scythe, the rarer resources it takes to craft them. For example, a Dew Reaper Mk4 is better than a Dew Reaper Mk2, but it takes Aluminum Ingots to craft, whereas the Mk2 takes Iron Ingots to craft.

Tradeposts

If you're really desperate for water, and you see the icon for a Tradepost on your map, then we recommend making a beeline for it to exchange your Solari currency for Cups of Water. Just keep in mind that you automatically consume these items, stopping you from storing them in your inventory. Thankfully, a shop's stock refreshes over time, so you can look at the timer on the top left-hand corner of the screen to see how long it'll take for water to come back.

One of the earliest Tradeposts you'll find is Griffin's Reach. This is located on the top of a cliff in the middle of Hagga Basin South, where you can buy Cups of Water from Myr Charki for 100 Solari each.

Drink Dew

Drinking Dew directly from flower fields may be the worst method of raising your hydration bar, but that doesn't really matter when you're desperate enough! Drinking Dew won't hydrate you for long, and you can only drink it when you have less than one bar of hydration. However, it can be a literal lifesaver when you're far away from base and you don't have water harvesting tools in your inventory.
