A second Dead by Daylight Stranger Things chapter is on the way, seeing as you all loved the first one so much

Dead by Daylight has blessed fans with some pretty awesome crossovers over the years - in truth, it's one of the main reasons why it's still one of the best horror games around. The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, Castlevania - it's a long, impressive list. High up on most DBD fans' rankings of the best collabs to date would be its Stranger Things chapter, which debuted all the way back in 2019. Behaviour Interactive knows how much you loved it, so it's going in for a second helping. That's right, Dead by Daylight Stranger Things Chapter 2 has been revealed, and it's only a matter of weeks away.

Sure, skins and themed maps are great when they arrive in Dead by Daylight, but what people really want from these crossovers is new playable characters based on these iconic franchises. The original Stranger Things chapter did just that, introducing The Demogorgon as a killer, and Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington as survivors. This chapter hit one of the usual speedhumps that licensed crossovers face, when it was pulled from the game in 2021, only to triumphantly return and become purchasable once again in 2023.

Now, it's been confirmed that a fresh dose of Stranger Things is being injected into DBD. It's just a teaser for now, but we do already know from Behaviour's past roadmaps that this crossover will contain one new killer, one new survivor, and a fresh map too. This licensed chapter was initially billed to be out in the wild already, but it was delayed as Behaviour refocused its efforts on fixing some frustrating bugs, performance issues, and balance concerns.

The teaser, however, is an interesting one. It's not 100% clear, but that appears to be Stranger Things' disturbing antagonist, Vecna. Surely, that's our new killer?

This could create a bit of an issue. The characters in Stranger Things began calling this beast Vecna due its similarities with the monster of the same name in the Dungeons and Dragons universe. However, Dead by Daylight's D&D chapter introduced its Vecna into the game as a killer already, admittedly under the title of The Lich. So, we've kinda got two Vecnas here…

Behaviour has also confirmed that the new DBD Stranger Things chapter will arrive in January 2026. This means it hasn't suffered from any further delays due to its work repairing and improving some of those core elements of the game I mentioned earlier.

This is big news for DBD - while highly requested, I doubt anyone thought that we'd actually get a second dose of Stranger Things, especially not as a new chapter. The only other franchise to have ever been featured twice in this way is Resident Evil, so this is a rare occurrence.
