The Marvel Rivals anniversary event is here, so don't forget to scoop up those free Units and Jeff's most adorable outfit yet

Marvel Rivals' big anniversary event has finally arrived, bringing with it the absolutely chaotic 18v18 Annihilation mode that I definitely won't be spamming Scarlet Witch in, alongside a boatload of freebies for you to scoop up in the multiplayer game. If you haven't logged in for a while, you'll want to at least grab the goods, seeing as there are enough Units being dished out to buy yourself a premium outfit. Plus, there's a free Jeff skin; praise Jeff, love Jeff.

Let's start with the easy stuff. Simply logging into Marvel Rivals for seven days during the event's duration will grant you a healthy infusion of Units - 200 per day for the first six days, then a cheeky 300 Units on day seven for a total of 1,500. It's important to note that these Units are temporary, and will expire on Thursday, December 18 (presumably when the party's over and the confetti's all cleared up). So, make sure you cash them in for some of the best Marvel Rivals skins before they disappear.

Don't be so quick to splash them, though, as you can rack up even more Units without spending a dime throughout the event. There's the invite-based Rivals Assemble, which yields 600 Units (though, you're out of luck if you don't actually have any pals to bring into Rivals… sorry). Meanwhile, joining the Rivals' Day Countdown lets you snap up a further 200 Units. Finally, when we enter phase two of the celebration on Thursday, December 4, you'll be able to take your total freebie Units up to 2,500 by sharing your Rivals Rewind report.

So, what to do with all that cheddar? Well, you can pick up a couple of cheaper skins from the store, or opt for some of the more modestly priced legendary bundles. Alternatively, you can go all-in when the Van Dyne's Grand Opening event arrives on December 4. While we don't have full details yet, it's currently promising six rewards in return for "no more than" 2,400 Units, including the quite frankly stunning Daring Daifuku legendary costume for Psylocke; a great pick up if you missed out on her Formula R skin.

Of course, the real standout cosmetic from the anniversary event is Jeff's free Business Shark skin. Just look at him! The little suit, the glasses, the loafers. 10/10, no notes. To acquire it, simply play matches and rack up Snack coins as part of the Jeff's Break Time event. Redeem them in the vending machine, and the Shark of Wall Street will eventually come home.

You can also grab Dad-tastic Reed and Disappearing Dessert Invisible Woman if you cough up 990 Lattice for the premium reward track, but who cares about them when Jeff is looking this cute.
