Dark fantasy RPG Dragonheir brings back beloved D&D event, adds whole new region and 19 heroes

As soon as I hear the words 'D&D game,' my ears perk up. I've fallen in love with the Forgotten Realms over the past few years, spurred on by Baldur's Gate 3 and my undying love for Brian Murphy's Not Another D&D Podcast. With the likes of Solasta 2 lurking on the horizon, it's going to be a good next year. But Dragonheir: The Silent Gods continues to chug along in the background, somewhat forgotten amid the post-BG3 CRPG tsunami. Its latest season is its biggest yet, however, adding a new region and bringing back a much-loved event.

If you're not familiar with Dragonheir: Silent Gods, it released back in 2023, then effectively relaunched in May this year, overhauling combat and progression in a bid to draw eyes back to Adenthia. The reworks have gone down relatively well, but its gacha-esque pull mechanics have consistently been branded pay-to-win, giving it a small but loyal playerbase. TLDR: Dragonheir is in an odd state.

Season 3, however, hopes to change that. Adding brand new region Jannat al-Harr Desert, you'll have to diffuse the rising tensions between the Lizardfolk, Minotaurs, and Tigerfolk, whose fragile peace threatens to collapse as natural disasters decimate their lands.

There are 19 new heroes (some locked behind a gacha pull system), 12 legendary gear sets, and Fallen Shadow Spire dungeon, whose difficulty will increase across four different levels. Then there's the 'familiar' system, which adds fully customizable, friendly creatures to the game. Your new pals will fight alongside you, and you'll be able to upgrade their abilities and hone their skills.

To round off the update, SGRA is bringing back its popular Dungeons and Dragons event, Portals and Keys. Bigby returns to the fray, and the seven-day Extraplanar Maze challenge is back, with various rewards on offer. If you're feeling extra feisty, The Lady of Pain's Trial pits you against a series of particularly vicious bosses, but you could nab an exclusive artifact for your troubles.

Dragonhair: The Fallen God's Season 3 update is out now, but the Dungeons and Dragons collab event begins on Thursday November 27 at 9pm PST / Friday November 28 at midnight EST / 5am GMT / 6am CEST. You'll have two weeks (until Friday December 12) to claim all of the rewards and spend them using the in-game Collaboration Token Shop. So what are you waiting for? The multiverse needs saving.
