How to light a fire in Prologue Go Wayback
How do you light a fire in Prologue Go Wayback? There's a lot to think about before you even set foot outside in Prologue Go Wayback; the meager supplies in your starting cabin will only get you so far, and if you want to stand a chance at surviving the harsh wilderness, you'll have to know how to build a fire.
With the survival game finally out in early access, players are taking their first steps into the unknown - and if they're anything like us, dying not long after. The cold weather is a real killer in Prologue Go Wayback, and without frequent fires to keep you warm and dry, you'll find yourself back in that starting cabin, starting fresh.
You need two things to light a fire in Prologue Go Wayback: an ignition source and something that will burn. These items can be found in your cabin when you first begin, giving you access to matches, kindling, and logs.
To create a large fire, you can build a small pile of kindling (a mixture of small branches, fragments of wood, and cardboard), then ignite it using a match or lighter. Once it starts burning, you can add large logs on top; they will burn for much longer than their kindling counterparts.
To place items in the world, highlight the object with your crosshair, then press F. This will set the object under your arm, then press R to set it down at your desired location. Placing items is key to building a fire, as you will need to layer the objects in the order of their burn time, with the longest-lasting ones on top.
Be aware that if any of your items are wet, they will take a much longer time to ignite and may not ignite at all unless you manage to find a lighter on your travels. If you know you'll need a fire soon, try to stay out of the rain and avoid swimming in deep water.
If you have a hammer in your inventory, you can smash bits of furniture you find in cabins to make small pieces of wood. These wood chunks won't last very long but can be vital if you need to regain some heat.
That's how to build a fire in Prologue Go Wayback. With that knowledge at your fingertips, you should be able to stave off the cold long enough to make it to the Radio Tower.
