Though the Resident Evil Requiem release date is still a stone's throw away, we already have a working idea of its expected length, based on dev comments, series trends, and the odd reputable leak. Grace's horror game debut is already shaping up to be a horrifying experience; the multiplayer prototype Requiem was born out of was canned simply for not being scary enough, so expect nothing less than sheer terror. Here's what we know about Requiem's length so far.

We expect Resident Evil Requiem to be between 12 and 15 hours long. This is based on comments made by producer Masato Kumazawa and game director Koshi Nakanishi, what we've seen from recent installments, and a post from Resi leaker 'Dusk Golem.'

Speaking to Italian publication Everyeye, Kumazawa says (translated to English via Google): "We're aiming for a playthrough roughly similar to that of Resident Evil 4 Remake." In the same interview, Nakanishi clarifies: "I think that each game, depending on how it is approached, takes a different time. And not necessarily specifically compared to Resident Evil 4, but I would say in most of the main chapters it had roughly the same volume of gameplay. So we could say it like this: you can expect a quantity of content in line with that typical of a Resident Evil."

This has also been backed up by a November 2025 post from Dusk Golem, who says they've heard from elsewhere that Requiem "is longer than Village, but a bit shorter than RE:4." Dusk Golem has historically been hit-and-miss with certain information, so take this with a pinch of salt.

The length of the Resident Evil games has historically spanned anywhere from six to 20 hours, with its newer mainline installments typically trending longer.

The bite-sized Resident Evil 3 Remake is the shortest of the bunch, while the sprawling Resident Evil 6 is by far the heftiest installment to date. Village clocked in around the ten-hour mark, with Resi 7 rolling credits around the same time. Judging by this, we can already expect Requiem to take at least as much time to beat as Village.
