SteelSeries just knocked $90 off my favorite high-end gaming headset with its early Black Friday deals

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is one of the most capable and versatile wireless gaming headsets you can buy. Its swappable batteries, multiple system connections, active noise canceling, and, of course, great sound quality make for a headset that can turn its hand to just about any gaming audio task while never running out of battery.

The base station also provides a convenient volume wheel and screen that together let you adjust all sorts of other aspects of the headset. Bluetooth is also built in, so you can connect to your phone or Steam Deck easily, too.

The base station also acts as a charger. You get two swappable batteries included, so you can constantly have one charging and one in the headset. The battery slots into the side of the base station, while a removable cap on the outside of the right earcup lets you slip in your fully-charged one with ease.

The headset itself is also packed with features. It has a retractable boom mic as well as internal mics that allow for active noise canceling (ANC) and a passthrough listening mode, so you can remain aware of your surroundings.

Buttons for power, Bluetooth, and mic mute are joined by another volume wheel, and you can even plug a sound source directly into the headset via another 3.5mm jack socket.

Although it is quite a heavy headset, at 342g / 0.75lbs, it does a good job of distributing that weight evenly over your head with its elasticated headband. The earcup padding is also deep and very soft, providing a good seal across a wide range of head sizes while avoiding squashing your ears.

All this and it really does sound great, too. It delivers masses of detail and has an impressively flat sound profile for a gaming headset, with bass not forced down your ear canals. However, by tweaking the EQ, you can tune this headset to fit whatever listening style you like, and SteelSeries has a host of game-specific settings to enhance your hearing in esports titles.

All in all, it's a fantastic headset that's well worthy of consideration at its usual price of $379.99. However, with the massive 24% discount now available on it, it's an absolute bargain, relatively speaking. The $90 drop means you can grab this headset for just $289.99. Yes, it's still a lot of money, but this is a lot of headset.
