Forget Steam Frame, you can get up to $70 off the Meta Quest 3S in this early Black Friday sale

I get the hype around Steam Frame, and out of all the hardware Valve showcased recently, it's actually the only piece of tech on my Steam wishlist. However, I love the Quest 3, which remains one of the best VR headsets due to a great price point, decent hardware, and a fantastic number of exclusive games. If you're looking for a cheap way to get into virtual reality, the Meta Quest 3S delivers a budget-friendly version, and it's up to $70 off in this early Black Friday bargain.

The Meta Quest 3S may have slightly worse lenses than Meta's premium VR option, as well as a slightly lower resolution per eye, but still packs in the great performance and features of Quest 3, just toned down for a cheaper price point. It has the same excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, which delivers brilliant performance in both standalone VR games and mixed reality experiences, and it also has color passthrough, like the more expensive variant.

In my Meta Quest 3S review, where I gave the headset a 7/10, I said that it's an "excellent upgrade from the Quest 2, offering an improved chipset, 8GB of RAM over the Quest 2's 6GB, and better weight distribution." While I prefer the older, more powerful Meta Quest 3, I typically recommend the Quest 3S to anyone upgrading from the Quest 2 or buying VR for the first time, as the lower price makes it an easier purchase.

The Quest 3S also gives you the best of both worlds. It can deliver great standalone games like Batman: Arkham Shadow or Deadpool VR yet, by using the Quest Link software or Steam Link app, you can stream PCVR masterpieces like Half-Life: Alyx, too. That gives you access to two libraries, and while the Steam Frame looks excellent, you can't play Meta Quest exclusives on it, so that's a win for the Quest 3S in my mind.

If you've been waiting for the time to buy a VR headset, you can grab a Meta Quest 3S 128GB for just $249.99 from Amazon with an exclusive Gorilla Tag skin and a three-month trial to the Horizon+ service. However, if you want more storage, the Meta Quest 3S 256GB is just $329 at Amazon, with the same three-month trial, but also a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow, which is one of my favorite VR experiences to date, and a fantastic entry into Rocksteady's Arkham series.

There's no date for when this discount expires, but considering it's an early Black Friday sale, we imagine you'll have until Monday, December 1, 2025, to grab this excellent deal, so don't wait around. Best of all, you can skip the queues and internet issues during the Thanksgiving weekend, so that's a bonus. If you use it, you can even skip having to spend time with your least favorite family members.
