ALDI Just Dropped an Adorable Bearista-Inspired Holiday Cup—and It's Only $5

A lot has been happening over at Starbucks lately. Red Cup Day was one of the busiest days of the year for the chain—and busier still was the launch of Starbucks’ viral Bearista Glass Cup, which sparked some unexpected chaos for the coffee brand in early November.

The adorable glass bear went viral much faster than Starbucks expected, and sold out within minutes across the country. If you weren’t lucky enough to grab a bear of your own (or maybe just weren’t sold on waking up at 3 a.m. to stand in line), ALDI has another festive option to consider for all your seasonal sips. 

ALDI's Version of the Bearista Cup

This week’s ALDI Finds aisle unveiled a glass cup that customers quickly noted as a holiday-inspired alternative to the Starbucks Bearista cup: a glass gingerbread man. This darling holiday cup is made to look like a Christmas tree ornament—except instead of a hook at the top, it has an opening for the cup’s matching straw. The brown-tinted glass is translucent, so you can show off your favorite coffee creations inside.  

The cup’s smiling face captured the hearts of coffee lovers just as quickly as the Bearista cup. But one of its most appealing features is its $5 price tag—making it perfect for holiday coffee stations and a creative Christmas stocking stuffer. 

Holiday Cup Options at ALDI

While the Gingerbread Man Glass Sipper is the trending option, there are quite a few different iterations of this cup to choose from. One alternative is a glass ornament with embossed bows, available in light green or pink. The other is shaped like a little tree, and comes in light green or dark blue. Each cup comes with a classic red-and-white striped straw—and each one costs just $5. 

How to Find an ALDI Crofton Glass Sipper Before They Sell Out

You probably won’t see this viral glass cup run out as quickly as Starbucks’ Bearista, but that doesn’t mean it won’t go fast. This coveted cup is only available via ALDI Finds, so it will leave stores on Nov. 18. You’ll have to find it in your local ALDI Finds aisle—and be aware that some ALDI locations may set limits on how many you can buy, depending on the item’s popularity. 

ALDI’s official Instagram account posted plenty of footage of the new cup—which they refer to as “lil’ diva”—and it quickly garnered a base of dedicated fans. Although a few stores reportedly sold out quickly, many customers commented that they didn’t have an issue finding the cups in stock near them. 

If you’re wondering whether there’s any beef between the two chains after ALDI’s new cup launch, Starbucks quashed any rumors of that on social media. “I meannnn… it’s cute too,” Starbucks’ official Instagram account commented about the cup.
