How to change appearance in Where Winds Meet
How to change appearance in Where Winds Meet
How do you change your appearance in Where Winds Meet? Once you know how, you'll never go a day without a fresh new look. While it won't be enough to have the guards turn the other cheek for your past digressions, it might convince you to use that preset that looks like Anakin Skywalker if he happened to be an Elder Scrolls protagonist. The fan-fiction positively writes itself.
Once you learn how to change your look in Where Winds Meet, you'll probably want to work on unlocking hairstyles, too. It's a gacha game at the end of the day, so the main method is obvious, but there are ways to get free cosmetic items with Where Winds Meet codes, too. Taking up the mantle of a healer? Then you'll want to unlock the Panacea Fan before you hop into online play.
To change character appearances in Where Winds Meet, you'll need to do more than spend a cash shop item from your inventory. Tweaking the look of your character is ever so slightly entwinned in an early Where Winds Meet quest, with a makeover being likened to, essentially, an elaborate facelift performed a thousand years before modern medical procedures.
This is the main quest that begins with taking Ruby to the General's Shrine. Continue down this quest chain long enough and you'll come into contact with the Faceless Ones-an almost zombie-like people living somewhere underground.

You'll use the Nameless Jade Flute sitting at the base of the underground shrine to coax the slow-moving shamblers into stepping on a pressure plate for you.
After a bit of a dream sequence in the next room, the lyrical man, Cheng Xin, at the steps of the shrine, will instead curl into a ball and perch himself by the door leading you back to the outside world.
Speak to him and return the Jade Flute, to unlock the option to have him 'Disguise' you. This is, for all intents and purposes, how you change appearance in Where Winds Meet.
Taking him up on the offer brings you back to the character creation screen. You can't change your gender this way in Where Winds Meet, but you tweak practically everything else about how your ancient Chinese hero looks.

From that point on, you can either go the roleplay route and head back to Cheng Xin using the fast travel point to Still Shore to change your look, or simply use the main menu. Select Appearance, then Appearance again at the bottom, and press the Space key to enter the character customization screen.
Is it free to change appearance in Where Winds Meet?
Whether or not it's free to change your look in Where Winds Meet depends on your objective.
You can adjust smaller elements of your character, like facial hair, eye color, and makeup, for free. These come under the Makeup category on the finalization screen.
Changing the size, shape, and style of facial features, however, all come under the Customization category, which requires a Water Lady Script to confirm. You can get these from the Jianghu Treasures Shop.
You can repeat this process every time you want to change character appearance during your adventure.
