You can grab a stunning fantasy game, an intense tactical FPS, and a high-speed roguelike all for free if you're fast

2025 has been a year where the best indie games have thrived. Whether it's larger-scale projects like Sandfall's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 or smaller yet just as powerful releases such as vedinad's Megabonk and Dogubomb's Blue Prince, they're yet another reminder that small teams can punch just as hard as the big names. Starting from today, you've got a week to snag three indie treats, including Songs of Silence, as free Epic games, and there's enough variety on offer here that you should find something that appeals, whatever your tastes.

First on the list is Songs of Silence, a gorgeous fantasy game from Chimera Entertainment that boast 4X elements akin to Civilization 7 and battle planning reminiscent of Total War, although its conflicts actually play out with autobattler elements. That means careful unit composition and strategy are essential to success. Its story-driven main campaign has you lead Queen Lorelai and her people across eight maps as you attempt to elude the grasp of the Crusade, and the Art Nouveau-inspired visuals look so good I find it hard to tear my eyes away.

Perhaps you'd prefer something a little more realistic and pulse-pounding. Then look no further than AttritoM7's Zero Hour, a tactical FPS game set in Bangladesh that shares a lot of DNA with the classic SWAT series, or even modern equivalents such as Rainbow Six Siege X and Ready or Not. Slow, methodical infiltration gives way to sudden bursts of action where every inch and every shot counts. You can opt for solo play with AI-controlled team mates, jump online for up to ten-player co-op, or go head-to-head in 5v5 PvP matches.

Finally, there's Scourgebringer, and I might just have saved the best until last. Flying Oak Games' action roguelike tosses you into an ever-changing dungeon rendered in glorious, vibrant pixel art. Structurally, it's a little Dead Cells, but the combat is more driven by platforming and movement, giving it a feel closer to the likes of Celeste or Super Meat Boy if they traded out their evasive preferences to let you become a dervish of death. With a roaring soundtrack from Joonas Turner (who boasts credits on Nuclear Throne, Downwell, and Broforce) you'll be bouncing in your seat as you tear through your foes.

Scourgebringer is free via the Epic Games Store this week.

Songs of Silence, Zero Hour, and Scourgebringer are all available to claim for free via the Epic Games Store between Thursday November 13 and Thursday November 20. Head here to claim them while you can.
