New Inzoi update will let you romance anyone and make starting a family easier

With the June Inzoi update right around the corner, game director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim has explained some of the new improvements in more detail, and the most exciting news for many players of the realistic Sims contender will be the opening up of relationship and family options. The big overhaul is also set to bring a first round of mod tools, dynamic weight and muscle changes, cheats, and more character customization and furniture assets. In his new 'Kjun's letter,' the director describes how some of these new systems will work.

Kjun begins by apologizing for the update's delay (it was originally scheduled for May, but was pushed back to "prioritize quality" and also make Zois feel more expressive). "We're committed to making it one that's worth the update." He then digs into the changes to Inzoi relationships. A core part of any life game, these were initially restrictive – Krafton's Inzoi studio marked the inability to start same-sex relationships with any of the city Zois in its list of 'known issues,' because all Zois were being generated as straight by default.

"A feature that was still in development at the time of early access release, Zois can now form romantic relationships with any other Zoi in the city," Kjun explains. If you wish to adjust your Zoi's preferences, you can find the setting under the 'change gender identity' tab in the Create-a-Zoi screen. Another addition is the ability for teenage Zois to interact romantically with one other. "Looking back, I personally wish we could have made teenager and adult Zois appear more visually distinct from each other," Kjun says.

Alongside this, it'll now be much easier to start a family. Zois are now free to have children regardless of marital status, and Krafton has also introduced a new adoption system and the option to have children with a partner "through medical procedures." Kjun explains that adoption was originally going to have some prerequisites, but "to allow players to form families more freely, we chose to simplify the system by minimizing the required conditions."

Those are the biggest points here, but there are quite a few other notable additions in this first step along the Inzoi roadmap. Also included is the ability to begin conversations and make plans via text messages as your relationships with other Zois grow. "We hope to develop a feature someday that allows you to write your own messages as well," Kjun adds. Zois are now able to exchange items, with new interaction options to gift, give, or sell items in your Zoi's bag to others.

When Zois eat and work out, their physique will now adjust dynamically, gaining weight if they overeat or building muscle as they train. A new setting has been added that lets you scale up the size of user interface elements and text to improve visibility, and there is a first wave of Inzoi cheats. "While the number of cheats currently available is somewhat limited, we will work to add more in future updates," Kjun notes.

As for the number of new assets and items we can expect, Kjun reveals that the update includes over 20 new character studio assets for customization, "including highly requested additions to hair-related assets as well as new outfits and accessories." On the furniture side, there are more than 100 fresh furniture options, "including items for kitchens, bedrooms, and babies." The team has also made a range of improvements to the sound settings. The Inzoi June update is set to be released on Friday June 13.
