Apple expects record sales for the holidays with potentially new product launches this month

The holiday season is either here now or fast approaching, depending on how much of a holiday person you are.

Either way, it appears Apple is already salivating over what could be a record-breaking holiday season for the company as consumers begin to shop for Christmas and holiday gifts. The company may even have a few last-minute additions to its product lineup to help it cross that line as well.

According to an analysis by Bloomberg's Apple insider Mark Gurman, Apple is looking at a historic $140 billion in sales for Q4, buoyed by holiday shoppers buying the latest iPhones and MacBooks.

During a conference call with analysts last week, Apple Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh shared that the company is expecting sales growth between 10 percent and 12 percent over the holiday season. This could potentially be double the 6 percent that analysts were predicting.

“We expect iPhone revenue to grow double-digits year over year, which would be our best iPhone quarter ever,” Parekh said on the call.

Gurman says that while that percentage would translate to "$137 billion to $139 billion in sales," Apple traditionally likes to temper expectations and the company could very likely see a quarter with sales reaching $140 billion for the very first time.

When it comes to Apple's total revenue and iPhone sales specifically, it looks like the company already expects this Q4 quarter to deliver record breakers.

With the new iPhone 17 lineup and the M5 MacBooks recently making their debut, Apple seems fairly confident in this holiday season, despite the economic downturn and President Trump's tariffs. According to Gurman, Apple may also get some help in the sales department from a few upcoming potential launches too.

While Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted that there's no big 2025 releases left, Gurman points out that inventory at Apple Stores are running very low for products like the Apple TV and HomePod mini. As previously reported, these are often signs that Apple is preparing to refresh the inventory with new versions of the product as they wind down the one that's about to become obsolete. Apple TV and HomePod mini have been due for an update, and they seem like the type of products Apple would launch without the need for a big Apple event announcement.

Gurman reports that Apple Stores are slated for an in-store redesign to debut on November 12. This could be Apple's marketing for the holiday season, a launch for a new product, or any combination of both.
