Don't miss our AMA for Sunderfolk, a new D&D-like from former Warcraft 3 and Riot devs
Don't miss our AMA for Sunderfolk, a new D&D-like from former Warcraft 3 and Riot devs
Sunderfolk is one of the best D&D games I've ever played. Blending vibrant cartoon graphics with the chaos of an actual D&D session, I'd argue that it feels even closer to IRL tabletop gameplay than the mighty Baldur's Gate 3. Anjali Bhimani's quirky narration and OTT accents capture a sense of playfulness that defines the very essence of Dungeons and Dragons. Its latest update, 1.5, adds a whole new one-shot system that lets you compete with your pals to rack up points, with four new missions of varying difficulty being added to the pool. It's an exciting time for this one, and we've locked down the dev team to ask them all about it.
On Tuesday, November 11 at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT / 7pm CEST, Secret Door director Chris Sigaty (Warcraft 3, Starcraft 2) and Sunderfolk game director Erin Marek (formerly Riot Games, EA) will be joining us over on Discord. We've got a live demo of the latest Sunderfolk update for you, as well as an AMA so that you can pitch the team all of your questions.
It's the perfect time to pick up Secret Door's debut title, too, as it's currently 40% off on Steam. There's even a free trial if you fancy taking it for a spin, and thankfully only one of you has to own the game for everyone to take part. You can head over to our free community Discord to get involved.

If you haven't played Sunderfolk yet, you really should. Set in a gorgeous world where magic reigns supreme, you're tasked with fending off an ancient evil that threatens to overwhelm and corrupt the land of Arden. Combat is turn-based and plays out like Baldur's Gate 3, Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, and other RPGs, but with the added bonus of the fate card deck, which adds a somewhat roguelike feel to every fight.
There's an adorable roster of animal adventurers for you too choose from (my personal favorite is the bat bard), and you'll be able to play with up to four players, or entirely solo. But all of the action takes place on your phone: you'll move your character, choose your attacks, and draw your fate cards all from the comfort of your sofa. Only one player needs to own the game for everyone to play, and trust me when I say it's fast become a favorite at our board game nights.
So, just to reiterate, PCGamesN's Sunderfolk AMA begins at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT / 7pm CEST on Tuesday November 11. You can join our Discord here.
If you can't make it this time around, we'll share the full video on the PCGamesN YouTube channel, as well as some snippets on our TikTok. Otherwise, we've got more awesome AMAs on the way, so watch this space!
