Pull out the slow cooker for an on-the-go appetizer that’s never gone out of style: cocktail meatballs! Choose from three sauces to customize for the crowd you’re serving. For the most tender meatballs, start by combining the other ingredients (bread crumbs, seasoning, etc.) before you mix in the meat. This will keep the mixing action to a minimum after adding the meat and prevent tough, overworked meatballs.
How to Make Meatballs Ahead
Prepare Slow Cooker Cocktail Meatballs through Step 1. Cool baked meatballs. Place meatballs in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Freeze meatballs until firm, about 30 minutes. Transfer meatballs to resealable freezer bags and freeze up to 3 months. Thaw meatballs in the refrigerator before continuing with Step 2.
