Where to find the Commander's Safe Key in The Outer Worlds 2

Looking for the Commander's Safe Key in The Outer Worlds 2? You're going to spend most of your time exploring the galaxy in Obsidian's space RPG, but there will be moments when you need to head back to your ship, the Incognito. As the captain, it's only right that you know what every room on your ship contains, leading you to the locked Commander's Safe.

Though the contents of the locked safe aren't essential to completing any of The Outer Worlds 2 quest list, they will give you a strong head start when you begin your space game adventure. You can access this safe at any point during your The Outer Worlds 2 campaign, but we highly recommend grabbing it immediately to benefit from the items right away.

Commander's Safe Key location

The Commander's Safe Key can be found inside the Incognito's engine room. From the ship's loading bay, walk straight into the engine room, then crouch underneath the large pipe towards the right side of the room where you'll find the safe key nestled on the ground.

As you leave the cockpit, you can find the commander's room through the first door on the left-hand side. Turn right and walk towards the terminal, then look left to find the safe. If your Hack skill is high enough (you need to invest four points into it), you can open the safe using a Mag-Pick, but this is impossible at the beginning of the game.

You'd think that the Commander's Safe Key would be kept in a safe location, but it appears the Commander isn't too fussed about finding a quality hiding spot for the key. After seeing the items they had locked away, you probably wouldn't be too upset if someone ended up stealing this stuff.
