How to recycle items in Arc Raiders

How do you recycle items in Arc Raiders? There are so many items you can pick up while Topside, it can be tough to know what's what. You'll find all kinds of tat - toasters, broken alarm clocks, even cat beds can turn up if you search long enough, and it's tricky to know what they can be used for. Some items have very specific purposes, but most are going to be useful for what they're made of.

You'll soon be acquainted with item ingredients after you spend several hours searching for Arc Raiders Mechanical Components - breaking things down to their base ingredients by recycling is a much more efficient way of going about things, as you'll lose your head if you try to find everything you need above ground. Here's how Arc Raiders recycling works.

Arc Raiders recycle: an inventory, where someone is planning on recycling an unused gun barrel.

Nearly everything in Arc Raiders is made up of components, and thankfully, you can break items down to their base components from your inventory. To recycle in Arc Raiders, right-click on the item in question and select the recycle option. You're then told exactly what you're going to get out of the recycling process, and you can confirm the action from here.

Basic items will only yield basic components, while more advanced ones can be recycled into mid-tier ingredients - Hornet Drivers, for instance, will yield a fair few Arc cores, which can be vital if you're low on shield rechargers. You can recycle items while topside, but be aware that this is a hasty process, and will only yield basic resources - and usually a lot less.

What should you recycle in Arc Raiders?

It's easy to make a mistake and recycle something you shouldn't have done in Arc Raiders. It's impossible for us to say what you should or shouldn't recycle in your game, as it depends on a variety of things.

First of all, be sure to check what you need for crafting recipes of the upcoming upgrades you're planning to make. If you have something you may need soon, don't recycle it. However, while everything has a use, you will need to recycle some things to get metal parts that allow you to upgrade your gear. Recycling is all about timing it right and knowing what you're working towards.

Now that you have total control over your inventory and know how to recycle items in Arc Raiders, it's time to gear up, put some points into one of our best Arc Raiders builds, and get back out there. Make sure you take an Arc Raiders Hatch Key along with you, as you never know when you'll need to make a quick exit.
