The Outer Worlds 2 The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals quest guide
The Outer Worlds 2 The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals quest guide
How do you complete the The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals quest in The Outer Worlds 2? You'll need to complete some of the game's early side quests as you begin your chase to find where De Vries is hiding. One of those quests tasks you with heading out to find some replacement mech parts. However, they're not easy to find.
You'll meet various NPCs and be sent on a wild goose chase or two as you hunt for the parts. You'll find the Zyranium gas shield along the way, which helps you complete The Outer Worlds 2's first main quest. You may need certain TOW2 skills to progress in The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals quickly, but we'll explain exactly what you need to do.

The quest is made more complicated than it needs to be because you can complete An Aegis Against The Miasma at the same time. If you focus only on finding the replacement mech parts, it's not too tricky.

How to get the Ministry of Accuracy access pass
Before you head to the Euphoria Automech Center, you'll first need to get an access pass. If you don't, you'll be stopped at the gate and won't be let in.
Head to the location marked on your map and fight past the enemies there. Once you've climbed up through the base's few levels, you'll find a blue terminal and can print the pass from it. You'll now be able to head to where the automech parts are.
How to get replacement mech parts
When you first get into the automech lab, you should speak to Hazel at the shop, who will tell you that the mechanic, Delphinia, should be able to help. All Hazel knows is that they're not allowed to be stored inside Delphinia's lab.
Speaking to Delphinia will introduce you to the An Aegis Against The Miasma, and she'll tell you that there's an automech nearby that's acting strange, so it may have something to do with it. However, investigating doesn't help.
The An Aegis Against The Miasma quest will help you complete The Saboteur of Paradise and get into the Vox Relay in the main quest, so we'd recommend completing it now.
Delphinia will eventually tell you that they should be near her lab, but not inside it.

Automech parts location
You'll find the replacement automech parts on the roof of Delphinia's lab.
Head back towards Hazel's shop and you'll spot a small staircase to the left of it, which takes you up onto the area surrounding the base. Follow it around the left towards Delphinia's lab, and you'll spot a way to jump up onto the roof. On the stuff at the far end, you'll spot the replacement mech parts.
The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals quest outcomes
Now, all you need to do is head back to Vigilant Hogarth in Westport and give him the parts.
As a result, he'll give you a Writ. If you give that to Lehman at the gates to the Vox Relay, she may let you in without you having to fight everyone. You may also need to complete the For Whom The Bridge Tolls side quest to get there, too.
