The Outer Worlds 2 Observatory puzzle solution

The Outer Worlds 2 Observatory puzzle solution
How do you solve the Observatory puzzle in The Outer Worlds 2? During the On the Trail of the Traitor main quest on Dorado, you'll find yourself in the Alexandra Monastery Observatory. As you first enter the building, you'll immediately come across a panel on the right side of the room, which requires a sequence of three numbers to be entered.
While completeing The Outer Worlds 2 Observatory puzzle isn't necessary to progress, there's a Pitchball card in it for you if you do take a brief detour to solve it. It's one of the trickier environmental conundrums we've come across in the space game, though with our guide you'll have it done in no time.

The Outer Worlds Observatory puzzle requires you to solve a riddle posited by a small message device situated next to the code lock you find on the wall as you enter the Observatory. This has you head back outside to observe the movements of the large Orrery, before returning and punching in the three-digit code to open up the secret wall next to the lock machine.
The riddle is as follows:
"Look to the orrery in front of the Observatory to solve the riddle.
The first dial should be set to the number of moons that orbit Elysium.
The second dial should be set to the number of moons that orbit between Dorado and Elysium.
The final dial should be set to the number of times Eden orbits Elysium before Praetor and Cloister complete a single rotation.
Based on your astronomical observations, enter the completed code nearby within the Observatory."
We've pointed out which planets are which in the image above, which should make things easier. Alternatively, you can just spam inputs into the lock machine until you find the right code (not that we did that, or anything). Or… just find the solution below.
The Observatory puzzle code is 4-1-4.

The Outer Worlds 2 Observatory puzzle rewards
In return for all your hard work, you'll gain access to what lies behind the secret wall door next to the lock machine. Inside the container, you'll find the following:
- 1x Pitchball Card: Feargus Urquhart
- 1,343x Bit Cartridge
- 5x Scrap Metal
It's certainly a tidy reward, especially the Pitchball card which grants a permanent 1% damage buff. It doesn't sound like much, but it certainly pays dividends over time.
And that's how to solve the Observatory puzzle in The Outer Worlds 2. If puzzles aren't your forte, then we've also got the Otto puzzle solution right here.
