You, yes you, can design a new weapon for Monster Hunter Wilds

Now that Monster Hunter Wilds has been out for a few months, I'm all about the fashion. Between major updates that introduce new monsters, activities, armor, and weapon variants, I'm crafting whatever I can to achieve maximum drip. There are countless combinations and colors on offer, and with new cosmetics coming out every once in a while, our options keep getting better. Now, Capcom is bringing back the Monster Hunter design contest, giving us the chance to submit our own ideas in the hope they'll be added to the game.

The Monster Hunter design contest has been around for a while. Capcom held it for both 4 Ultimate and World back in the day, and now it's coming to the series' biggest game yet. You can submit designs for a new weapon or pendant in Monster Hunter Wilds, with one entry in each category eventually being added into the game itself.

According to Capcom, both of these designs will be added into the RPG in early 2026, when we'll all have access to them. You'll be glad to know that there are no restrictions on the type of Monster Hunter Wilds weapon you can submit a design for, either, so you can just pick one of the 14 and get to work. Capcom does say it reserves the right to change the design to fit it for another weapon type based on its features, though.

There's only going to be one grand prize winner in both the weapon and pendant categories, but eight runners up will be listed in the staff roll for Wilds as well. The first round of judging will be done by Capcom staff, who'll pick 20 weapons and 20 pendants to make it through the initial stages. From here, players can vote on their favorites to decide the winner.

Capcom will close entries for the Monster Hunter Wilds design contest on Tuesday June 24, with the winners coming to the game in early 2026. You can enter the contest for yourself right here.
