The Grow a Garden bee is a type of pet that comes from the Bee egg. On your garden, it's used to add the Pollinated mutation to crops, making them exchangeable for Honey during the Grow a Garden Bizzy Bee event.

The Grow a Garden Bizzy Bees event is a simple gameplay loop. You plant seeds, wait for them to gain the Pollinated mutation, then exchange them for Honey used to buy limited-time seeds, pets, and gear.

The Grow a Garden Bizzy Bees event ends on Saturday, June 7. At this point, Grow a Garden bees and seeds will likely become unobtainable.

How to get Pollinated plants in Grow a Garden

The first way to get Pollinated Plants to exchange for Honey in Grow a Garden is by being online when a Swarm event begins.

Swarm events begin every hour and last for 10 minutes, much like the Bloodmoon event from early May. A timer to the right of the Queen Bee NPC in the middle of the map counts down to the next Swarm event.

During these 10-minute intervals, plants growing in your garden have a chance to gain the Pollinated mutation.

Harvesting these crops and placing them into the Honey Combpressor by speaking to the NPC beside it in the middle of the map earns you Honey based on the weight of the crops inserted.

Honey is then exchanged at the Queen Bee NPC for limited-time seeds, gear, and pets, like the Bee or Honey Bee, which can both add the Pollinated mutation outside of the event timer.

Is the Bee pet the same as the Honey Bee pet?

The Bee pet can apply the Pollinated mutation to plants in your garden, removing the need to wait for the hourly Bee event.

The Honey Bee pet, a rarer pet from the same Bee egg, has a higher chance of applying the Pollinated mutation more often.

While the Bee and Honey Bee pets can speed up the grind of getting Bizzy Bee event rewards in Grow a Garden, neither one is necessary.

And that should be everything you need to know about the big Grow a Garden bee update event. While your plants grow offline, give your green finger another go with the best farming games on PC. Need a break from the horticultural grind? Give our list of the best free PC games a go.
