Birdwatchers, rejoice: ALDI is releasing an outdoor product that will attract a bunch of feathered friends to your yard this summer. Starting the week of June 18, ALDI will release the Belavi Bird Drinking Trough, and it’s a garden must-have that will help local wildlife beat the heat.

What Is a Bird Drinking Trough?

A trough can be a great alternative to a bird bath; it has a very shallow depth, which means that even the smallest birds can stand inside the water safely. Birds don’t need a deep pool of water to cool off; all they need are some moist feathers, which will regulate their entire body's temperature.

When they’re not splashing around in it, a trough is also a great source of drinking water for birds. Keep your bird trough full and in the same spot in your yard (ideally in the shade), and eventually, you’ll have a regular rotation of visiting birds when temperatures hit high.
