My Favorite Throw Blanket from Quince Comes in Beautiful Fall Colors, and Shoppers Say It Feels ‘Yummy’

When the cool weather hits and the leaves begin to change, there are a few essentials I always reach for—and a cozy blanket tops the list. I’m a work-from-home writer, and I spend my days at my desk, wrapped in a blanket with a seasonal candle burning nearby. I’ve built up a collection of blankets for just this reason, and the stack is piled high with at least 20 snuggly options.

When I spotted Quince’s Cotton Fisherman Throw, with its autumnal colors and thick knit, I knew I had to add it to my collection, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to test it. BHG rated Quince as one of the best places to buy bedding, because it has hundreds of options with luxe fabrics at a “steeply discounted” price, according to our testing team, so my expectations were high. This blanket surpassed all of the others I own, thanks to its comfortable feel, durable build, and gorgeous color.

As any frequent blanket shopper knows, when you open the package, sometimes there can be a strange odor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Quince’s blanket had no unpleasant scent when I received it, so I was able to use it immediately without needing to air it out or dry clean it. It feels just like a blanket my grandmother once knit for me, so it gives me a boost of nostalgia when I reach for it, too.

The throw is soft to the touch thanks to its 100 percent cotton fabric, and the dyed yarn gives it a rich color that’s ideal for fall. I opted for the terracotta version, which adds a lovely pop of color to my bedroom when I use the blanket as an extra layer on chilly nights. It also complements my brown leather couch for evenings spent cozied up in front of the TV. However, it’s available in eight colors: ivory, natural, amber, fig, mineral blue, dried sage, and olive, to easily complement decor.

The blanket measures 50 x 60 inches, making it large enough to share, drape over my full-sized bed, or completely wrap around my body. While the cotton weave is breathable, it’s warm enough to stay comfortable when I use it on a chilly night by the fire pit, and it actually feels heavy when you pick it up. As one customer put it, it has “just enough weight to be comforting” without feeling like a weighted blanket.

My cat’s a fan of the blanket, too. I was initially concerned about this, as he leaves little black hairs wherever he goes, and the blanket is dry clean only. I’ve found that simply running a lint roller or shaking out the blanket removes any stray hairs easily, which is a welcome bonus.

I’m not the only one who loves the luxe blanket for fall—several shoppers commented on how “cozy” and “yummy” it is. One person praised the blanket as “so soft, plump, and well-made,” and after two months of use, I agree.
