Best 99 Nights in the Forest base - best campfire layouts for log walls

What is the best 99 Nights in the Forest base layout? If you're to survive the increasingly more dangerous armies that approach your camp as the nights go by, you'll need to put serious thought into where you place your defenses. You don't need a dedicated builder to craft a passive and self-sufficient base; just teamwork, resource management, and some smarts.

Building a base in 99 Nights in the Forest increases your odds of surviving the waves of Cultists that begin to invade. Defending your campfire means using the teachings of Roblox tower defense games. Give the best a go with Five Nights TD codes and Anime Vanguards codes, or jump straight into becoming a pro 99 Nights base builder with 99 Nights in the Forest codes instead.

With only log walls and bear traps available as crafted fortifications, optimal base building in 99 Nights in the Forest isn't too deep. The biggest problem is the completely open camp. Cultists can attack from all angles. And for 12 logs per wall, closing off the camp can take time.

Building a log wall in 99 nights in the forest.

The first few invasions are light on enemies. This increases the more players you have in your party, but so too does your ability to collect logs, resulting in the faster production of walls.

So, what's the solution? Smart placement can make those tall log walls go a long way. First, place four of them at equal distances apart. This won't do much to stop the cultists from getting in, but it will force them into tighter entrances while giving your team objects to hide behind. This is especially useful against the Crossbow Cultists.

As the nights get more dangerous, tighten up the entrances with more log walls to create a funnel effect or choke point. This forces Cultists into easily controllable groups that can be killed in batches or kited around by the player with the best armor.

Once you have the wood to make more log walls, you can start to build a secondary ring around the inside of the base. This creates a lengthy corridor that buys you more time to deal with the increased number of enemies the forest throws your way.

Once you're able to force attackers down a single-lane corridor, bear traps can be used to slow them down. Just be sure to set them when placed. Because they can be triggered by the player, it's best to set the bear traps in an outward-in sequence as night approaches.

99 Nights base layouts like these can be upgraded with the stakes placed with a Defense Blueprint. The Base Defender, one of the best 99 Nights in the Forest classes, starts with a couple of these, but you can find them in UFOs, the volcano biome, and in rare chests. A prime example of the best 99 Nights in the Forest base layout was posted by HappyTonyN on YouTube.

As your campfire expands, the basic 99 Nights in the Forest best base rule remains the same: make one long corridor.

If you have good area damage potential, you can even consider widening the end of your corridor at times. This will give Cultists room to bunch up, making them ripe for area damage from weapons like Wildfire, the Flamethrower, and the Poison Master's spread effect.

How to move buildings in 99 Nights in the Forest

If you need to move your base around a little to accommodate a change in strategy, craft the Hammer at the Red Forge, where Meteor Shards and Obsidian Ingots are used. This is done by tossing wood and scrap metal onto the reforged anvil.

Once the recipe is selected from the board, the placed materials will turn into the hammer automatically. Jump up onto the anvil to claim it, then use it on structures in your base to move them around.

And that should be everything you need to know to build a top-tier base camp in 99 Nights in the Forest. With the Crossbow Cultists able to climb and easily close distances, shorter utility or decorative crafts like shelving units and beanbags are just a waste of wood.
