Best Call of Duty Black Ops 7 perks - all perks explained

Best Call of Duty Black Ops 7 perks - all perks explained
What are the best Black Ops 7 perks? The Call of Duty team has hardly reinvented the wheel for this year's iteration of the hit shooter series. Though there are some new perk names in the mix, these are mostly rebrands of existing perks from Black Ops 6. That being said, there are some new additions, alongside a more flexible, Hybrid Combat Specialty system that you'll need to get to grips with before you can start fragging out in lobbies.
As the Black Ops 7 beta, alongside the full Black Ops 7 release date, draw ever closer, we've put together a rundown of not only all of the Black Ops 7 perks, but we've also locked in our predictions for which perks are going to give you the best chance of getting off to a flying start in what could be one of the year's best FPS games. Without further ado, let's get into it.
We expect the best Black Ops 7 perks at launch to be Flak Jacket, Ninja, Shadow, and Tac Sprinter.
Flak Jacket proved to be an invaluable perk across map types in BO6, especially with how much explosive action took place. It's a solid set-and-forget option that will insulate you against pesky traps and other consumables, and we anticipate it being equally-useful in BO7. Combined with Shadow, which makes you undectable to traps and mines, you'll be pretty much free to roam the Black Ops 7 maps without having to watch your step.
As Black Ops 7 looks to continue CoD's preference for hyper-frenetic arcade pew pew, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Ninja and Tac Sprinter will be must-use perks. Maintaining the ability to consistently zoom around terrain while throwing off your enemy's sense of proximity are huge boons.
An interesting point of contention will be whether Ghost is as useful as it once was, due to the introduction of the Scout Hybrid Specialty. While, yes, Scout isn't a permanent boon, and it's still unclear if it will provide all of Ghost's effects, in high-kill, high-engagement games you will ideally maintain the Specialty's uptime. Ghost will still be a really strong option on larger maps, and in instances where you utilize a perk loadout that doesn't activate Scout. But, if Scout works exactly how its flavor text implies, you can safely ignore Ghost under certain circumstances.
All Black Ops 7 perks

All Black Ops 7 Specialties
As noted, there's been a big switch up in how Specialties work in Black Ops 7. Alongside the returning mono-type Specialties, you can now mix and match your perks to activate Hybrid Specialties. These require at least two perks from one category, plus a third from elsewhere. While Perk Greed's in use, the Hybrid Specialty will be decided by whichever perks you have in the first three slots.
Here are all of the Black Ops 7 Specialties:
Specialty | Effect | Activation requirement |
Enforcer | Buffs movement speed and health regen speed for a short time after scoring an elimination. | Three Enforcer perks |
Recon | Upon respawn, the minimap shows the direction of the closest enemy. The HUD's edge pulses for enemies beyond your view. You don't leave death skulls. | Three Recon perks |
Strategist | Increases score for objectives and sabotage. Equipment deploys faster. Can see enemy content through walls for a short distance. | Three Strategist perks |
Scout | Completely hides you from the enemy minimap for five seconds after scoring a bullet elimination. Additional eliminations during this window reset the timer. | Enforcer and Recon perk mix |
Tactician | When earning assists, earn bonus score from bullet eliminations for ten seconds. | Enforcer and Strategist perk mix |
Operative | Stealthy eliminations grant Field Upgrade charge. Suppressed weapons, melee eliminations, eliminations while out of line of sight, etc. all count as stealth eliminations. | Recon and Strategist perk mix |
