Joanna Gaines Transformed an Outdated Building into a Whimsical Herbarium—See the Incredible Results

Joanna Gaines' new nine-episode series, Mini Reni, aims to bring fresh life to small spaces. Often focused on just one to three rooms, these small-scale renovations give Gaines room to express her most authentic, detailed designs. Everyone has fallen in love with the incredible dining room transformation made in episode two. Now, she's onto the next miniature project.

For the latest renovation in episode four, Joanna Gaines focused on a very special "mini reni": the Magnolia Seed and Supply building. Formerly a space for customers at the Magnolia Silos to purchase garden supplies in Gaines’ signature style, the now crafting station boasts exciting opportunities to create artwork you'll love.

The Old Seed and Supply Building

The previous building presented a gorgeous location with plenty of natural light. Multiple windows and ceiling lights adorned the room, but the team felt there could be a better purpose for the space. Looking for something new to give their fans, Gaines opted for a hands-on herbarium. 

Inside the Herbarium

Gaines has a new favorite hobby she wants to share over at the Silos: the art of pressing flowers. With this in mind, she turned the old space into an airy, nature-inspired art workshop, full of dried flowers and botanical artwork. The cozy, earth-toned haven boasts wood shelving and plenty of workshop space—not to mention a vast array of dried flowers and herbs.

What to Expect from the Workshops

Guests will gather at a large center table, creating a central crafting space for open conversation and easy access to supplies. Each workstation features a tray full of crafting materials for making a pressed flower souvenir—think essentials like scissors, paper, tape, pencils, and dried flowers.

It’s clear that the herbarium will be the new favorite spot over at the Silos. But while you’re waiting to take a herbarium workshop of your own, you can start incorporating some botanical style into your own home, thanks to new shoppable products just added to the Magnolia site.
