I Tried Every Fall Scent from Mrs. Meyer's—One Instantly Made My Home Feel Like Autumn

Fall is all about fragrance—from the pumpkin spice wafting through every coffee shop to earthy scents of dewy grass dotted with falling leaves to the pots of mums that adorn every front step in the neighborhood. It’s a trip to the pumpkin patch and the orchard, fall treats baking in the oven, and cider mulling on the stovetop.

This year, I decided to go all-in and try every fall fragrance from Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day iconic fall collection, including dish soap, hand soap, multi-surface cleaners, and candles. This is a brand we’ve been a fan of here at Better Homes & Gardens for a long, long time: The products are a staple in our annual Clean House Awards.

Mrs. Meyer's autumnal lineup captures everything I love about this cozy season. I used them all for one week, and one scent stood out as my absolute must-have for fall. Here are the fragrances and products I tried.

4 Mrs. Meyers Fall Fragrances to Try

Adding these products to your cleaning caddy will elevate household cleaning chores to a fall treat.

Apple Cider

This fragrance is a crowd-pleaser. It's brings all the nostalgia of picking your own apples at the orchard, then stopping for a cup of cider that's pressed, seasoned, and mulled right where the fruit is grown. I tried the apple cider multi-surface cleaner, and it made wiping down my counters a treat for the nose. Best of all, unlike real cider, it's not sticky. Quite the opposite—it cleans up like a dream.

Mum

These fall flowers have a light fragrance: a little bit earthy and not particularly sweet. And that translates beautifully into an everyday cleaning spray. Mum is the hidden gem in Mrs. Meyer's fall collection. Its fresh, botanical scent balances out the warmer, spicier scents in the lineup. If you love a clean, garden-inspired fragrance for fall, this one’s for you.

Fall Leaves

Fall Leaves is the fragrance that captures the whole season in a single whiff. It’s crisp and slightly smoky, like a brisk walk on a leaf-strewn path. I particularly loved this scent in candle form—the glow and fragrance together instantly feels like sweater weather.

Acorn Spice

I deemed Acorn Spice underdog of the collection, and it turned out to be my personal favorite. It elevated the seasonal scent collection, and even made my home smell like an upscale boutique. I tried this fragrance in dish soap and soy candles, and I have to say: The candles earned a permanent spot in my home. The fragrance is fresh, grounding, and not too sweet, which makes it perfect for everyday use, no matter what time of year.

The One Worth Adding to Your Collection

Scent is personal, I know. But for me, the one scent I'll return to over and over has to be Acorn Spice. I'll burn this candle and replenish my supply, just to linger in my favorite season a little longer. These signature fall fragrances are part of Mrs. Meyer's permanent line, so you can enjoy them all year round.
