Silent Hill f scarecrow field walkthrough

Silent Hill f scarecrow field walkthrough
How do you escape the Silent Hill f scarecrow field? The terrifyingly dense fog is one of the most recognizable elements of Silent Hill, and, despite not actually taking place in Silent Hill, there is no shortage of smog in Silent Hill f. One of the foggiest places you'll come across is a vast field teeming with deadly scarecrows, and it's easy to get turned around in the murk and mist.
Your task here is to remove nails from specific scarecrows. Get it wrong, and you'll find yourself fighting off their attacks. However, the most difficult part of this Silent Hill f puzzle is finding your way in the fog, and even the most dedicated puzzle game enthusiasts can find themselves turned around. If that's you, read on for the solutions and an aid for going the right way in the Silent Hill f scarecrow field puzzle.
How to escape the scarecrow field
There are five sections to complete in the field. For each, you must find the Flash Cards buried in one of the scarecrows. Pick the wrong scarecrow, and you have to fight them off. The hardest part is finding your way between the groups, as you can get lost in the fog. Stray too far from your path, and you'll be reset. However, when you do pull the nail from the correct figure, they'll point you in the right direction.
The following solution is for Hard mode, and we'll update this guide as soon as we have the solution for Story and Lost in the Fog modes.
The clue to picking the correct scarecrow lies in the faceless scarecrow standing guard in front of the group. However, you'll soon realize that the scarecrow you must pick in the first four areas looks like Rinko. The last looks like Hinako.
First clue
The first scarecrow's clue reads: 'Can you imagine how I feel? I'll put on my polite smile for now.'
The hint here is that the scarecrow is smiling, but it's not sincere, so you must find the smiling scarecrow also wearing a mask. Interacting with this figure gives you the Flash Cards that read: 'It's okay.' 'You don't have to be afraid anymore.'
The scarecrow then manipulates its body to point you in the direction of the next clue.
Second clue
The second clue reads: 'Can you imagine how I feel? What it's like to have been deceived by you for so long?'
This scarecrow has been stabbed in the back, so you should only interact with the statue that has a scythe buried in its back. The Flash Cards you get here read: 'That's what I said to you when I saw you so scared,' and the scarecrow will point you in the direction to continue.
Third clue
For the third clue, we're getting jealousy, as the clue reads: 'He never once looked at me the way he looked at you. Not once.'
We're not totally sure what gives this one away, but it could be that this scarecrow is bending over backwards for someone's attention, as you want to pick the figure that is literally bending over backwards. They will then point you forward to the fourth clue.
Fourth clue
The fourth scarecrow's clue reads, 'You've always been such an eyesore.'
This one is probably the most difficult of the hard-mode clues, as it's not really obvious what this has to do with the correct scarecrow, other than perhaps that it's craning its neck to look away. Again, though, it has Rinko's half-up, half-down hairstyle.
Fifth clue
'You hurt me, and even hurt him, too. Do you know how it feels to force a smile when I'm staring at that disgusting face of yours?!' Again, this scarecrow has a scythe in its back, and it's also looking down.
The problem here is that you're likely to have a few deadly scarecrows chasing you at this point, so it's best to take them out before trying to solve the puzzle. They move closer when they're off-screen and attack when you get close. Keep this in mind, and you should have no trouble defeating them.
Once you've escaped all five rounds of Silent Hill f scarecrows, you're returned to Shu and the 'real' world Ebusugaoka. Continue through the horror game, and you may find you need our help in the next section when you need to work out the Silent Hill f locker combinations.
