Meghan Markle's Baking Boxes Are Packed with Sweet Gift Ideas Worth Stealing

Key Takeaways

  • Meghan Markle’s press package for With Love, Meghan season two reflects her elegant touch with lavender sprigs and embroidered linens.
  • The curated boxes offer gifting inspiration for baking and hosting lovers: recipes, apricot spread, cookware, and more.
  • The inclusion of her signature thumbprint cookies proves simple homemade treats also make heartfelt gifts.

When it comes to intentional entertaining, Meghan Markle is setting the bar high. In celebration of season two of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, she sent out a limited-edition press package that’s as elegant as it is heartwarming.

TikTok creator Olivia McDowell (@oliviaamcdowell) gave her followers a sneak peek inside, and the contents tell us a lot about the Duchess' personal style, hospitality skills, and love of home baking. If you're looking to put together a thoughtful gift box of your own, take notes.

Lavender-Topped Presentation

Before even opening the first box, recipients were greeted with a sprig of fresh lavender. This small touch set the tone for the entire package: relaxed, fragrant, and inspired by nature. Lavender is known not only for its calming properties but also for its culinary versatility—the kind of detail that instantly shows these items were chosen with care.

Box One: A Baker’s Starter Kit

The first box (out of two) included items that reflect Markle's personal baking favorites:

  • A recipe card for her thumbprint cookies: Fans of With Love, Meghan may recognize these sweets, as they’ve already made an appearance on the show. Sharing a handwritten recipe makes the gift feel like a genuine hostess-to-hostess gesture.
  • With Love, Meghan embroidered napkins: Personalized linens elevate any table setting, and the simple embroidery adds a layer of thoughtfulness. These napkins blend functionality with keepsake value.
  • A box of shortbread cookie mix: Shortbread has long been a tea-time staple, and its buttery, crumbly texture pairs beautifully with fruit spreads, or even that touch of lavender. Including a mix allows recipients to recreate a little piece of Markle's kitchen without much fuss.
  • A jar of apricot spread: The Duchess’ choice of apricot is sweet in more ways than one. Fragrant and slightly tart, it's versatile enough to spread on shortbread or glaze over a roast. It’s a flavor profile that feels both refined and comforting.
  • A wooden cooking spoon: Simple, rustic, and useful, the spoon grounds this kit in everyday cooking. It’s the kind of tool you reach for over and over.

Box Two: Cookware Classics from Our Place

The second box leaned into cookware, with several pieces from Our Place, a kitchenware brand known for stylish, multifunctional essentials. Markle has been seen using its products in her series. Her press package featured:

  • The 3-Piece Bakeware Set: in the soft pink “Spice” hue, including a main bake dish, side bake dish, and loaf pan. Their nesting design makes them practical for storage while adding a pop of color to your kitchen.
  • The Griddle Pan: a versatile roasting and stovetop piece that bridges the gap between everyday cooking and dinner-party entertaining.

Thumbprint Cookies Are Perfect For Gifting

In episode seven of With Love, Meghan season two, Markle heads into the kitchen to whip up a batch of her go-to thumbprint cookies, a simple yet elegant treat that feels just right for sharing.

If you want to recreate the recipe, you'll need:

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (plus more for rolling, optional)
  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • Raspberry preserves (for filling)

Markle begins by creaming together a stick of unsalted butter with both granulated and powdered sugars until the mixture turns light and fluffy. To that, she adds a splash of vanilla, 1 egg yolk, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt, followed by just over a cup of flour to bring the dough together.

She notes that the lemon zest is a key ingredient: Its brightness and zest balances the raspberry preserves she uses for filling, allowing the fruit’s natural sweetness to shine. Once the dough is mixed, she rolls it into small balls, coating each one in granulated sugar for a touch of sparkle and crunch. After pressing a thumbprint into the center, she adds a dollop of raspberry preserves before sliding the tray into a 375°F oven for about 10 minutes.

As the Duchess herself puts it, “These cookies are easy ways to show up lovingly.”
