This new McLaren F1 sim racing PC gear will make you feel like Norris or Piastri

With McLaren currently sitting in pole position in the race for both the driver and constructors titles this Formula 1 season, Logitech could hardly have chosen a better time to team up with the racing supremo to launch a new lineup of ultra-desirable racing gear. The gaming peripheral company has not only put together a McLaren-liveried version of its G RS Formula Wheel, but it's also launched a McLaren edition of its Playseat Formula Instinct racing seat and its top-of-the-line A50 X gaming headset.

While some of us would rather this collection came out when McLaren's colors were still silver and red rather than the classic bright papaya, if you're a dedicated fan of the team and the sport, this new Logitech lineup is sure to be top of your buying list. The A50 X, for one, is currently one of the most desirable options on our best gaming headset guide, so this is quality gear.

Looking more closely at the new wheel, it's one of the more subtly-styled parts of the new lineup, with just the McLaren logo in its middle and dots of orange on the ends of the grips. It's based on the MCL38 steering wheel used in McLaren's car from last season - its current design will be somewhat secret, presumably - and employs a classic steering yoke style design that's ideal for Formula-style racing. Interestingly, Logitech commented that they had to make their design more comfortable than the real deal shape as, ultimately, open cockpit racing wheels aren't designed to be used without gloves and are tailored to suit each driver so don't work well for general users.

Based on Logitech's existing RS Wheel Hub system, the new wheel is actually just a featureless frame of aluminum and plastic, with all the buttons, dials, and other controls of the wheel system housed in the RS Wheel Hub. This system contrasts with most other designs, where each wheel rim contains its own selection of buttons, as seen in our Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro review. Logitech's way is far more economical if you do plan to buy multiple wheel rims, but it makes for a more expensive initial setup compared to buying a budget wheel rim for other systems.

The Logitech G RS Formula Wheel: McLaren Racing Edition price is $129.99 / €119.99 and will be available in Q1 2026.

Next up is the Playseat Formula Instinct Logitech G McLaren Racing Edition cockpit, which is based on the existing Playseat Formula Instinct F1 Edition seat. This tubular steel frame allows you to build your sim racing rig around an ideal F1-style driving position, providing mounting points for your wheel and pedals, ready for you to tuck in behind a giant wraparound gaming monitor, such as the Acer X45, or hook into your choice of the best VR headset.

Emblazoned with the McLaren logo on the headrest and given the papaya orange touch across its upper frame and seat back, this chair gives off a little more of the obvious McLaren look while remaining reasonably classy-looking, thanks to its otherwise all-black finish.

Priced at $599.99 / €599.99, the Playseat Formula Instinct: Logitech G McLaren Racing Edition release date is October 8, 2025.

Finally, there's the standout of this trio of McLaren gear, at least as far as the amount of orange goes. The A50 X McLaren Racing Edition is, quite simply, a McLarened-out orange version of the superb A50 X gaming headset. As we discussed in our Logitech A50 X review, this headset offers excellent sound quality and comfort. It really sets itself apart from the others, though, with its base's ability to connect to multiple devices - PC, Xbox, PS5, and so on, and then be able to switch between them via the headset, including switching video inputs.

It's quite an incredible feat of engineering that makes it the perfect headset for those who like to use many gaming devices. And now it's in orange! Lots and lots of orange. As the most visible part of any setup - especially when streaming - it certainly makes sense to show your McLaren allegiance this strongly, but it's not subtle.

Available on the same October 8 date as the Playseat, the A50 X McLaren Racing Edition price is $429.99 / €429.99, making for a relatively modest $30 premium on this already pricey headset.
