Is Skate down? Server status explained
Is Skate down? In true monkey paw fashion, we finally received a new Skate game after a decade, but now it's always online, which means we're at the mercy of the Skate server status to allow us to play. To make matters worse, there's no offline mode planned, so you have to hope EA minimizes the amount of maintenance on the servers to keep the game online at all times.
If the Skate playtests are any indication of the server status, there's a very high chance that the skateboard game will be online most of the time. That said, if there are any maintenance periods to be aware of, all you need to do is check out this guide before you plan your next trip around the Skate 4 map.
The Skate servers are currently online. The game has been available to alpha playtesters since August, and with the launch of the early access version, Skate is now available to everyone.
To find out if there's scheduled maintenance for the Skate servers or if the game is just unavailable to play, you can head over to the Skate Status X account to receive updates. Alternatively, you can also check out EA's Skate forum for any server status developments.
If you are having issues connecting to the game, it could be down to the platform you're playing on. On PC, there are times when the Steam servers will go down for maintenance; similarly, the EA app servers can also go down for maintenance, which could stop you from accessing Skate. As for the console versions, the same thing can be said for PSN and Xbox servers, so if you're having trouble accessing any of your games, it might not be EA's fault.
And that's all you need to know about the Skate server status. The multiplayer game isn't set to launch for at least another year, so give our Skate release date guide a read to learn about all the developments on the game.
