A cat took in a kitten who was bigger than her own, and it turned out the little guy had so much to give. Simon SaysTails HighDuring a weekend TNR (trap-neuter-return) effort to help nearly 30 community cats, volunteers from Tails High stumbled upon a feline family in need.Among them was an orange tabby who immediately stood out. He was clearly older and bigger than the other kittens, nestled close to a cat named Recess, who cared for him as if he were her own. "His actual mother was believed to have run off, leaving Recess to welcome him into her family," Tails High shared.But there was something else that made this kitten differenthe couldn't use his hind legs. This little family needed some extra support."The team quickly devised a plan for the little tabby, whom they named Simon Says. He needed a foster volunteer with specialized experience, and Ryen didn't hesitate to step up. After hours of coordinating vet appointments and long drives, Simon and his feline family arrived safely in foster care. Tails HighThe vet determined that his paralysis was caused by a spinal injury. But the spirited kitten refused to let that slow him down. "He zooms around happily, uses his litter box, wrestles with the other kittens, and recently discovered a love of television."Though Simon may need a little extra help at times, he never stops amazing people with what he can do. Tails High"From the moment he was rescued, Simon has shown the world what true resilience looks like."Unable to use his hind legs, Simon learned to scoot across the floor, climb onto couches and beds, and play using his strong front legs, balancing with remarkable skill.
