Dispatch is kind of like if Peacemaker or The Boys were a video game. It's made by AdHoc, featuring staff who worked on both The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands. It's a game where you are given choices to make, like a Telltale game, but there's another component where you are actually a dispatcher for villains turned heroes.

Some games use difficulty in ways that are simple and completely uninteresting. For example, some just create damage sponge enemies the higher up you go. That's not very fun, it never has been, and it makes the games that do only this not all that great to play past the first playthrough.

Let me be clear, the base game experience of Pacific Drive can get really intense at times. While tinkering away on an old station wagon and decorating your garage with trinkets you scavenge from the surrounding forest sounds super relaxing, most of the time its making you sweat. Able to lure you into exploring a few minutes more than you should, and quick to punish your complacency, its earned a place on our best survival games list. While its freaky, mysterious anomalies can get your heart racing, its brand new DLC, Whispers in the Woods, takes things to new levels. With a darker tone, cults, and a new survival mechanic, Pacific Drives first expansion looks incredible. And guess what?
