How to get to Hollow Knight Silksong Sands of Karak

How do you get to Sands of Karak in Hollow Knight Silksong? Once you've unlocked a good chunk of traversal abilities and can spot a ring dangling in a storm, you can start to make your way to this annoyingly thorny neck of Pharloom's woods. With only one true entrance and plenty of obstacles to contend with, you want to stick to this Sands of Karak entrance path closely.

Before we make a start, be sure to grab any Silksong map you might be missing up until this point. There's a long road ahead, and having a map of the connecting Hollow Knight Silksong areas can make all the difference. You might want to kit out the best Silksong crests with some handy Silksong tools, too. This isn't a path you'll walk without a fight.

To reach Sands of Karak in Silksong, an area south of Mount Fay, you'll need to wander through the Blasted Steps.

You're also going to need the Clawline ability (the one that lets Hornet use her Needle to grapple and springboard off enemies, hooks, or rush forward in mid-air) as well as staples like Glide and Wall Jump.

The path to the Sands of Karak in Silksong.

From the Blasted Steps bench, head right and drop down the pit, using your Glide ability to hug the left wall as the area opens up. You should land on a ledge leading toward the long path stretching to the west.

In this zone, vision is massively obscured by a dust storm. What you need to do is travel west, using the Clawline ability to latch onto the hooks along the path.

Hop onto the platform, then climb the wall to your left before jumping off and gliding to another footing back the way you came. Climb the wall ahead, float down, grab the hook, then bounce off the closest wall to reach the higher hook and leap onto the nearby ledge. Head up and you'll officially enter the Sands of Karak location. But you're not done yet.

From this point on, you'll need to climb various sheer walls while avoiding seemingly endless stalagmites and stalactites. Silking wall enemies patrol the ascent, with boulders forcing quick thinking, too.

Reach the next area and you'll have to head across a long stretch to the east, traversing timed platforms and using your diagonal attack to bounce off objects and enemies.

Once you reach an impasse this way, you need to scale through the tight tunnel to your right to hit another object that spawns the timed route above.
