One or two won't make much of a difference, but you're sure to feel the sting if you jump into the higher boss difficulty levels with a minuscule health pool.

All Hollow Knight Silksong Mask Shard locations

Upgrading your health by one stage in Hollow Knight Silksong requires hitting up four Mask Shard locations. Mask Shards can be found in faraway, hidden, and obscured places, with some simply sitting on the shelves of an NPC shop you might otherwise ignore.

Here's an in-progress look at where to find every Mask Shard in Hollow Knight Silksong: 

Bone Bottom Mask Shard

The first Mask Shard you can find is one of the NPC shop variety. Speak to the Bone Bottom vendor and fork over 300 Rosaries for your first taste of a health upgrade.

Far Fields Mask Shard

Once you have the Drifter's Cloak from the Seamstress, you'll be able to use your new Glide ability to grab a Mask Shard.

Jump and glide to the top of the Seamstress's room and you should spot some explosives you can use to reach the top left corner and enter a new room. Reach the left side of the room by uncovering the blocked gusts and you'll spot a bomb you can drop from the ceiling above. This blows a hole in the ground, revealing a Mask Shard in the pocket below.

Wormways Mask Shard

The Wormways Mask Shard in Hollow Knight Silksong requires hopping across the top of the elevators in the western reaches of Mosshome, requiring either the Swift Step/Dash Sprint or Glide ability.

In the room that follows, use the platforms to protect yourself from the pursuing enemy's acid spit as you head east. In the next room, drop into the water below and pound on the wall on the right to uncover a secret room housing your third Mask Shard.

Deep Docks Mask Shard (via The Marrow)

By starting in The Marrow, you can mosey through a locked gate visible from Deep Docks to uncover another Hollow Knight Silksong Mask Shard. You just need the Drift and Wall Jump abilities to reach it.

Via the first chamber connecting The Morrow to Deep Docks, head to the top-right area of the map, scrambling up the walls and hopping across a few platforms. Enter the room, trigger the battle, and fend off the enemies to unlock the road to the right. Head inside to claim your Mask Shard.

Shellwood Mask Shard

This Silksong Mask Shard is found not too far from Shakra and the Flea. Jump toward the top-right corner of the room and smash through the wall. Complete the relatively simple jumping puzzle inside to uncover another Mask Shard.
