Whether you're a dedicated player or not, you've almost certainly heard of World of Warships. This free-to-play naval battler has been at sea for ten long years, and it's celebrating the occasion with a massive update and, more importantly, a host of free goodies, including free Premium Account access, lootboxes, tokens and much more. You could, if you're lucky, net one of several rare ships and navigate your way to victory.
If you're unfamiliar with World of Warships, this naval strategy game puts you in command of a host of WWII-era sea-going vessels. Despite the title, you can also command a submarine, if stealth is more to your taste. But whether you're a newcomer or not, there are freebies to be had.
To claim World of Warships' free goodies, you'll need to download the game and create an account. Every day you log in, you'll receive a free item, the reward in question depending on World of Warships' Daily Login Calendar.
Rewards include "Supercontainers, Coal, Credits, free experience, days of Premium Account access, and Festive Tokens". Containers are World of Warships' version of lootboxes, and supercontainers offer a higher chance of getting a rare ship or some other scarce item. Don't worry about losing your prized ships to Davy Jones' locker, either; they'll be available for the next battle.
Free stuff aside, developer Wargaming Group Limited is going a little old-school to celebrate this anniversary. It's introducing a new Blast From the Past mode that removes submarines and aircraft carriers, essentially replicating the original World of Warships experience.
World of Warships has a curious history. Despite being set in the first half of the 20th century, it's crossed over with The Transformers, Warhammer 40K and more. There was even a brief Stellar Clash mode that sent you into space.
World of Warships' daily rewards run until the end of September. If you've a taste for World War II combat, take a look at the best WWII games. We've also rounded up the best simulation games.
