What are the Silksong map locations? Travel through Pharloom, the vast interconnected world of Silksong as Hornet, the hunter on a mission to defeat the evil insects attempting to take over the land. Navigating the map will be just as big of a challenge as battling all the enemies standing in your path, so it's a good idea to know where you're going.
Just like any good Metroidvania game, you're going to be referring back to the Hollow Knight Silksong map whenever you gain a new ability, providing you with access to key locations. We've pieced together everything we know about the Silksong map to show you what biomes and key locations you'll be exploring when the platform game officially launches.
Here are all the Silksong map locations revealed so far:
- Moss Grotto
- Deep Docks
- Bellhart
- The Marrow
- Greymoor
Banets on Reddit has stitched together the pieces of the map seen in the Silksong release trailer, giving us a clear view of what we can expect in the full game.
Based on this map and what we know from the original Hollow Knight, the colored zones represent each of the biomes. Using this information, we can make some educated guesses about which locations match up to the biomes we've seen in all the Silksong footage so far.
Moss Grotto
Moss Grotto is the first area Hornet finds herself in after breaking free from the cage her captors placed her in. Though Moss Grotto isn't marked on the Silksong map, the demo reveals this region as the starting zone. Based on the layout of the area, we believe this area is connected to the Far Fields region as they both feature prominent elevators.
This biome is encased in moss, with a green layer surrounding almost all the terrain and even some enemies. There are certain moss-covered walls that Hornet must break through to reach new areas, one of which hides the first of the Hollow Knight Silksong bosses, so be prepared to take on a powerful enemy.
Deep Docks
The Deep Docks features flowing lava in the background and can hurt Hornet if she manages to land in it. The enemies in this area appear to be wearing armor, with some wearing bells as helmets. Taking a closer look at the environment, there appear to be chains and other metallic objects, possibly created by the Forge Daughter, a group of blacksmiths who offer to sell items to Hornet.
Bellhart
Speaking of bells, Bellhart is filled with these objects. From the surfaces to the buildings, bells appear to be the central theme of this location. Bellhart is connected to both Shellwood and Greymore, and there may be a third unlockable entrance attached to The Marrow. We haven't seen any fights take place in Bellhart, but there is an interesting platforming section involving several hanging bells that Hornet can hit to get around.
The Marrow
The Marrow is most likely connected to the Deep Docks, judging by the same flowing lava in both regions. The key difference between the two areas is the surfaces, which look like they've been constructed from bone. Similarly, the enemies in this area have sharp shells, likely also made from bone.
Greymoor
Team Cherry, the developers behind the Hollow Knight games, stated in a blog post back in 2019 that Greymoor is "one of the biggest [regions] we've ever created," stretching further than any area we've seen so far. Greymoor is home to at least two dilapidated towers, with armed enemies and roach-like insects patrolling the location.
Silksong map icons
While we've been able to take a look at a fraction of the Silksong map, some of the icons featured on the map appear to be blocked by a silver disk. Upon closer inspection, you can make out some details behind the disks. Based on contextual clues, we can make an educated guess as to what they represent.
Here's what the icons represent on the Silksong map:
- Yellow Rosaries: Merchant
- Silver Disk (three lines): Fast travel
- Red Bench: Checkpoint
That's everything we know about the Silksong map so far, but stay tuned as we'll be updating this guide with additional information once the Silksong release date arrives.
