The Metal Gear series is one of the few franchises that remains a pop culture phenomenon years after its final entry, with creator Hideo Kojima's last contribution to the franchise being 2015's The Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the most beloved entries in the series, and the new Metal Gear Solid Delta remake brings the 2004 classic back into the spotlight, losing none of what made the original great in the process. If you're planning to buy the game, you might want to head over to Fanatical, where, for just a few more days, you have a chance to get it for just $1.
Metal Gear Solid Delta takes one of the best stealth games ever made and remakes it with new PC builds and consoles in mind, offering a whole new way to enjoy this iconic adventure. Chronologically speaking, Delta is the first game in the series, and it sees you play as a young Naked Snake as he goes on a classified mission, Operation Snake Eater, to sabotage a superweapon.
Everything you've come to know and love about the bizarre world of Hideo Kojima's games is present in Metal Gear Solid Delta, from the brilliant stealth-focused combat to the political narrative sprinkled with strange characters and melodramatic cutscenes. It's a delicate balance that only Metal Gear Solid seems to have perfected, and it remains uniquely interesting decades later.
It's no surprise, considering how faithful the remake is to the original (despite plenty of quality-of-life tweaks, like crouch-walking or better aiming), that Delta is a remarkable game. As Christian Vaz points out in his 9/10 Metal Gear Solid Delta review, "Konami has taken great care with the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, bringing this legendary spy thriller to a new audience with a modernized play style and thoughtful QoL tweaks to suit today's gamers."
It's a great new PC game to look out for, but if you're worried about paying full price, this is your chance to get it for next to nothing. Right now, you can take a chance at getting the game for as little as $1 / £1, thanks to Fanatical's Mystery Box Bundle. Each box you buy has a random chance at scoring Metal Gear Solid Delta, or any of the other major prizes on offer. You can buy more chances at higher discounts, with up to 25 boxes setting you back just $16 / £16. That's just $0.64 / £0.64 a box.
Even if you don't get any of the major prizes, you're not leaving empty-handed. Each box is a random Steam key, giving you anything from underrated indie games to the best RPGs you've never played, all for less than a cup of coffee. However, as mentioned before, each box is shot at some valuable prizes, including the following:
- Golden Boxes with over $1000 worth of games
- Steam Decks
- $100 / £100 Fanatical credit
So, even if you don't manage to get Metal Gear Solid Delta for cheap, you'll either get plenty of games cheaper than their discounts during the next Steam sale, or some other worthwhile prizes. However, you don't have long, as the bundle ends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
