Stellar Blade dev's free action RPG Nikke gets surprise Resident Evil crossover
Before it put out Stellar Blade, Shift Up already enjoyed enormous success with its free action RPG Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Part of Nikke's appeal has always been its crossover events, which have included characters drawn from fellow games like Nier Automata and Dave the Diver as well as the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. The latest of these collaborations was just announced during the Future Games Show and it looks like a good one for anyone eagerly awaiting the launch of Resident Evil 9.
A short teaser reveals a Goddess of Victory: Nikke character huddling in fear as she watches a group of cultists praying in a spooky summoning ritual of some kind. The character is grabbed on the shoulder by an unseen ghoul's hand and the scene then shifts to show two silhouetted characters approaching a mansion. Inside, we see a number of seemingly lifeless Nikkes and a man in a lab coat, the latter of which is shot by a cartoon Jill Valentine.
Other than Jill, we don't know which other characters from the Resident Evil series' cast will appear. One of the figures approaching the mansion in the teaser, though, seems like it could be an anime style Leon Kennedy.
There's no date set for Goddess of Victory: Nikke's Resident Evil crossover event just yet. You can get a head start by downloading the game for free right here.
