Don't be fooled by Peak's simple premise; surmounting each mountain is a real challenge, especially if you have friends trying to "help" you along. Luckily, the Peak system requirements are so low that your average gaming PC or laptop should have no issues getting the game to run, even at its best.
Peak could be one of the best co-op PC games of all time on account of its simple yet difficult to master mechanics that will see you to the top of each rotating map or plummeting to your death, screaming in rage. From my experience, friends are what make the game shine in the same vein that Repo and Lethal Company shine. You won't need the best gaming PC from our buying guide to get the game running, either, but you may need almost as much patience as you'd need to overcome Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.
Here are the Peak system requirements for PC:
Minimum | Recommended | |
OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
GPU | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT |
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT |
CPU | 2.5GHz Intel Core i5 | 3GHz Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 |
RAM | 8GB | 16GB |
Storage | 4GB | 6GB |
The Peak minimum requirements don't require anything special, calling for an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU, and 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately, the developer hasn't listed a specific CPU, so we can only assume, based on the listing, that a processor such as the Intel Core i5-2520M or equivalent is up to the task - meaning anything within the last decade or so should be fine.
As for the Peak recommended specs, you'll need more powerful hardware, but nothing that'll stress mid-range to high-performance rigs. An Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT GPU and 16GB of RAM are required alongside a 3GHz Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 CPU. As the developer also hasn't listed a specific processor, an Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 will, in theory, be enough to meet the recommended specs.
More ambiguous are the storage space demands, as the Peak download size requires 4GB to 6GB of space according to both the minimum and recommended specs. It's unclear why this is, especially as the game's actual depot size, as seen on SteamDb, requires 3.59GB of storage space. Whatever the case, 6GB is hardly a huge amount of space, but you should still install the game onto the best gaming SSD from our buying guides that's also within your budget.
