As soon as Home Depot drops its annual Halloween collection full of creepy crawly animatronic characters, the official Halloween countdown is on. And the time has come because Skelly—the iconic 12-foot skeleton that has become a Halloween decor mainstay—is back, witches.

Now that Summerween is in full swing, the best way to count down to the scariest day of the year is to shop Home Depot’s recent Halloween drop. It’s full of Halloween decor staples, and historically doesn’t stay in stock for long. In fact, the fan-favorite Skelly is bound to sell out well before October rolls around. So, don’t tempt fate. Grab him now for $299 while he’s in stock.

While he’s technically usable indoors (if your ceilings are tall enough), most people place him outside where he can be staked to the ground. He has poseable arms and a plug-in power adapter that also comes with a remote to control his LCD LifeEyes with eight settings. You can even put Skelly on a timer for six hours on and 18 hours off.

Skelly’s 12-foot stature might be daunting, but as long as you have a ladder and a friend who’s willing to help, he can be assembled in just 60 minutes. And because he’s complete with a durable pre-wired metal frame, he’ll be able to withstand the wind and rain with the help of the included tether and stakes. You’ll never have to worry about him toppling over or breaking—only scaring the neighborhood children. And the occasional adult, too.

This year, Skelly brought some new friends along as part of the new Gruesome Grounds Collection, including an 8-foot two-legged dragon, a troll, and a 15-foot haunted scarecrow—his tallest friend yet. Another one of our favorites from The Home Depot’s Halloween edit is a massive Megalodon shark that appears to erupt from the ground. It’s totally scary—even if you’re on land.

Don’t wait to buy The Home Depot’s infamous 12-Foot Giant-Sized Skelly or you just may lose your chance since it sells out every year. You can buy Skelly and more spooky animatronic Halloween decor picks below.
