The mid-range sim racing wheel world has gone through a revolution in the last five years, with a host of more affordable direct drive models arriving and totally shaking up the market. The Revosim RS Pure bundle is the newest entrant to the crowded field, taking on the entrenched brands and driving the cost of entry down even further. This has put a technology that used to be for hardcore sim racers only into more hands than ever before.
Nacon first announced its sim racing focused Revosim brand in 2024. Under that umbrella, the RS Pure bundle is now finally available, after much anticipation. So can a company best known for its controllers and other peripherals really compete with its more experienced sim racing rivals? With a place on our best racing wheel guide at stake, we're about to find out.
The RS Pure bundle includes a 9Nm direct drive wheel base, a steering wheel, and pedal set for the competitive price of $799.90. This puts it firmly in the power range to compete with Thrustmaster and Logitech direct drive offerings, while undercutting their price significantly. It also compares favorably in price and power with bundles available from Moza and Fanatec. Nonetheless, with such a crowded field, the RS Pure will need to be special to stand out against those more well-known and trusted brands.
To truly test its capabilities we've used the RS Pure in a number of sim racing titles, from track racers like F1 25 to off-roaders like EA Sports WRC. Read in on to see how it stacks up.

Features
Although the Revosim Direct Drive kit is modular, with the option to remove the wheel from the wheel base and add other accessories, for now it's only available as a complete set. As such, the RS Pure bundle includes the wheel base, steering wheel, and 2-pedal set neatly packed into one rather massive box.
Looking more closely at the individual parts of the kit, its standout feature is its powerful direct drive wheel base. The RS Pure wheel base outputs 9Nm of torque, which is the level of twisting force the wheel can exert as it tries to mimic the forces a driver feels when holding a real wheel in a real car. While this isn't quite as much torque as the Thrustmaster T818 or Logitech G Pro, it is far more than entry level wheels and plenty for all but the aspiring esports driver.
As for the pedals, the limitation of just two pedals (rather than three) is a little surprising for a more premium set like this, but they still have some quality features. In particular, the brake has a 100kg load cell, allowing for a precise and progressive brake response. It also comes with a variety of elastomers you can easily swap in and out to adjust the brake feel. The throttle and brake arrive detached from the base plate, and are simple to mount with the selection of pre-drilled holes or can be directly mounted to your rig's pedal plate if preferred.
The wheel rim features two aluminum gear paddles on the rear along with 12 mappable buttons, a directional stick, and one rotary wheel on the front. This gives you enough buttons to enjoy any game. It also includes a set of different coloured button fronts and stickers so you can fully customise it to your liking.
The wheel base is easy to install, with rails for T-nuts on all four sides of the base. It fit perfectly onto our GT Omega Prime cockpit, which is not always the case with some of its competitors. A desk mount is included too, and this is also very straightforward to install.
Sockets for the power supply, an optional shifter, an optional handbrake, the pedals, and the main USB-C connection from the system to your PC can be found on the back of the wheel base, and connecting everything together is very simple.
The Revosim RS Pure bundle includes a phone mount, which can be attached to the top of the wheel base and allows you to make full use of the HUD feature, or just watch your favorite show while cruising around.
The companion app, which lets you adjust the output of the wheel base and customize the LED lights on the wheel, is excellent. It comes with four feedback pre-set profiles; GT, F1, Rally, and Lifestyle. All are fully customizable, but they give you a great baseline with maximum steering angle, force feedback strength, inertia, and damper effects all set up in a good place for each discipline.
The app is also available on mobile, and you can make adjustments on the fly by linking your wheel base to your phone via Bluetooth. It can also act as a HUD for some games, including F1 25.
Design
The Revosim looks and feels like a high-quality wheel. There's almost no plastic, with the sleek black metal design of the wheel base providing plenty of mounting options. The only slight drawback of the design is that the power button is on the back of the wheel base. This keeps the front looking nice and clean, but it is a little less user-friendly.
The wheel rim itself is also beautiful. The 30cm / 12-inch diameter wheel is wrapped in faux leather and has solid aluminum paddle shifters. The buttons are all within the sweep of your thumb when driving and provide a satisfying feel when pressed - you'll never second-guess if you hit the button or not.
The paddle shifters are a little less satisfying, though. They lack the firmness of the buttons, leaving you prone to the occasional double-shift. If we had to make one guess about where some cost savings were made, it would be here. The quick release system is very simple and elegant in its anodized green design. You won't be wrestling with it trying to get your wheel off.
The quality continues with the pedals, which are highly modular and customizable. They feature hall effect technology for precise, contactless control and the load cell elastomers come with the softest ones already installed, making it immediately accessible. Just like the wheel base, the pedals attached to the pedal deck of our cockpit with ease.
Performance
So if the Nacon Revosim's features and design are all impressive, what about its performance? Well, it's another strong showing here too.
The 9Nm wheel base provides a punch to your racing. It gives you all the detail of the road beneath you and lets you feel the weight of the car you're driving.
Smooth Formula 1 circuits, with only the kerb rumble to disturb you, feel like a dream, letting you push the car to the limit of grip. When you get into a GT3 car though, the weight of the machinery and bumpiness of the surface turn it into a wrestling match where you are fighting to keep the car where you want it. Smooth inputs and precise car control meld with muscling the wheel round.
We first took the RS Pure onto Assetto Corsa Competizione for a few laps around Oulton Park, and the immediacy of the feedback was startling. From the undulation and unevenness of the track to the slip of the tyres and mass of the car, every detail was at your fingertips.
Taking the RS Pure to the loose surface of EA Sports WRC also gave it a chance to shine. Here, the ability to add damper and friction to the wheel in the app was key in crafting an experience that suited the surface of the stage. The rumble of loose gravel and the weightlessness of drifting through the snow are intoxicating, even if you need the shifter and handbrake accessories to truly shine in rallying.
Price
The Nacon Revosim RS Pure bundle price is $799.90/£699.90/€799.90. This is a highly competitive price point for a wheel of this quality, with few direct drive options hitting close to this price while delivering as much power or including as many accessories.
With the high build quality and total lack of moulded plastic, you can certainly see where your money has gone. You'll also feel that investment when you turn the wheel in anger at full power.
Verdict
The RS Pure bundle is an excellent first step into the sim racing hardware world for Nacon. Their new Revosim brand has come out swinging from every direction and will put other manufacturers on notice.
The combination of high build quality, sensational feel, and competitive pricing is a winning one. Some may be put off by the base having an output of "only" 9Nm, but that really is plenty for most sim racers and more than enough if you are planning to clamp it to a desk or foldaway wheel stand.
The only drawback is that when you buy one, you are buying into the whole Revosim ecosystem, and that isn't nearly as well developed as some of its rivals. There are currently no other wheel rims on offer, which means if you want a formula-style rim you will simply have to hope that Nacon eventually produces one. That small issue aside, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time with the RS Pure bundle.
