There's yet to be any updates on Fallout 5, but that's okay because there's plenty to keep us busy in Fallout 76. While it may not have had the best of launches, it's certainly shaped up in recent years with a whole slew of new features for players to enjoy, including the much-anticipated fishing update. If you've been planning on diving into the wastelands of Fallout 76, there really is no better time, as a limited-time event has free items up for grabs.
It would be safe to say that the launch of Fallout 76 wasn't that great. While it initially failed to stand up against the best MMORPGs of the time, it's certainly in a much better state than it was before - and that's even before considering the recent addition of the new fishing update, Gone Fission.
And now there's even more to delve into, with the return of the limited-time Fasnacht event. From this week, players will be able to ring in Appalachia's latest seasonal public event with a roaring bonfire, and tackle tasks to earn various rewards, which include everything from funky looking masks to unique plans and recipes.
All you need to do is allow the Master of Ceremonies, found at the top of every hour in Helvetia, to task you with recruiting five festive Protectrons for the Fasnacht parade. Each Protectron requires you to complete a special task for them before they'll agree to join in with the festivities.
To earn the rewards, your Fasnacht celebration will need to go off without a hitch. Unfortunately, several nasty looking critters - and the occasional Super Mutant Behemoth - aren't happy about your celebration, and will attack the parade. You and your crew will need to beat them back to keep the party going; the more Protrectons that stay functioning, the better your festivities and rewards will be.
The fight will be worth it with a range of free items available as rewards, including brand new wearable Fasnacht masks, and designs from Fasnachts of the past.
The Fasnacht event is running from Tuesday, July 29 to Tuesday, August 12.
