Want to beat Stinkbugs in Grounded 2? Like Scorpions and some species of spiders, Stinkbugs can cause problems through debuffs. Unlike the aforementioned buggies, they can do so without hitting you, which makes them a real pain to deal with.
As you continue on your Grounded 2 journey, you'll want to learn the silk rope recipe and how to craft the Spinning Wheel. We also highly recommend learning how to get quartzite and marble for some easy upgrades. Back to the subject at hand, if you're tired of avoiding these large and endlessly roaming stinkers, we can help you take them on.
The most difficult part when fighting against the Stinkbugs is dealing with their poisonous stench, limiting you to just two options. You can either bring enough restoratives to counteract the damage from the poisonous stench, or ignore it altogether with something like the Gas Mask.
Stinkbug Resistance | Stinkbug Weakness |
Smashing | Stabbing and Fresh |
Whichever route you take, you'll be making some sort of compromise. Equipping the Gas Mask means losing Defense, Resistance, and any other benefit a standard headpiece provides. If you decide to stick with your hard-earned armor, you'll have to contend with the ticking time bomb that is the Toxic debuff.
The key to winning fights against Stinkbugs is to watch out for its the expulsion of its toxins by waiting for it to crouch; that's your signal to back off. The toxin doesn't travel with the beast, so kiting is one way to avoid needing a Gas Mask at all. Learn its attack patterns and pick your moments to whack it enough times to knock it down for good.
It can't do much when stunned, and your squad can deal decisive damage while it's out for the count. Going too heavy on attacking, dodging, and blocking can mean running out of stamina right when you need to avoid an incoming blast of its foul odor, so keep this in mind during combat. For your efforts, you'll nab Stinkbug parts used in a variety of crafts. That includes early upgrades for the Omni-Tool.
Where to find Stinkbugs in Grounded 2
You can find Stinkbugs around trash heaps like the garbage bags of the Snack Shack and east of the Ice Cream Truck. These areas always require the use of a Gas Mask to survive, however. Elsewhere, Stinkbugs can be found roaming just about every area of the park.
The top-left corner of the map seems to be a hotspot for Stinkbugs, but you'll have to contend with scorpions and other beasties getting in the way. Fights breaking out between rival bugs can make it easier to beat Stinkbugs, making it possible to pitch in with the fight and then simply outrange the Stinkbug's attacker before heading back for the spoils.
And with that, you should be set to beat Stinkbugs in Grounded 2. After that, you'll need to learn how to beat Scorpions and Ladybugs to get closer to the Omni-Tool upgrades needed to tick off those golden Milk Molar locations you keep finding.
